Oscars 2026 Worst Dressed: Demi Moore, Heidi Klum, Kirsten Dunst fail to step up on the red carpet
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As the lights shine on the 98th Academy Awards, awards season reaches its grand finale with one of the most unpredictable 2026 Oscar races in recent memory.
The prestigious ceremony, Hollywood’s most celebrated event, kicked off at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles with its iconic red carpet. While the Oscars are all about celebrating talent, they’re also a stage for bold fashion statements. And if a look misses the mark, the fashion police are always ready to call it out.
Hollywood gathered for the Academy Awards even as global tensions remained high on Sunday, March 15. The United States and Israel were conducting military operations in the Middle East after a conflict erupted on February 26.
1. Demi Moore
Demi Moore arrived at the 2026 Oscars in a green iridescent gown covered in feathers from head to toe. She paired it with emerald earrings and layered bracelets, but the look felt over the top.
2. Misty Copeland
Misty Copeland wore a custom David Koma outfit with a black structured blazer, a plunging V-neck, and a white tulle tutu attached to a floor-length skirt. She added $2 million in diamonds, but the mix of ballet and office style didn’t quite work.
3. Kirsten Dunst
Kirsten Dunst wore a black layered dress with the same sleek hairstyle she often chooses. While classic, the look felt too plain and repetitive for the Oscars red carpet.
4. Sigourney Weaver
Sigourney Weaver wore a full-sleeve, high-neck gown with a busy silver pattern. The design, combined with matching silver accessories, made the overall look feel odd rather than elegant.
5. Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum went for a nude, skin-toned dress with a matching choker and minimal makeup. The look was simple and familiar, offering little impact on the red carpet.
6. Yvette Nicole Brown
Yvette Nicole Brown wore an emerald green gown with long sleeves and a high neck, paired with diamond earrings and a top-knot hairstyle. Though striking in concept, the overall look didn’t translate well visually.
7. Maya Rudolph
Maya Rudolph’s black silk Chanel dress with chiffon ruffles, crystals, beads, malachite accents and feathers screamed 1980s disco. Even Chanel High Jewelry couldn’t save this throwback, which felt out of place on the Oscars red carpet.
8. Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman’s powder-pink Chanel gown with a crystal bustier and feathered peplum went overboard. She has worn feathered looks before, but this time the design felt overly elaborate rather than elegant.
9. Teyana Taylor
Teyana Taylor’s Chanel gown with a sheer bodice and black-and-white feathered skirt aimed for high glamour but ultimately landed flat.
10. Chloé Zhao
Chloe Zhao opted for a black satin full-sleeve gown paired with a black veil that partially covered her face. While dramatic, the styling hid much of her look and left some wondering whether the veil was necessary for the red carpet.
