WASHINGTON, DC: A day after House Democrats vowed to block her motion to vacate, Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene announced on Wednesday, May 1, that she would seek a vote to remove House Speaker Mike Johnson "next week," as per the New York Post.

Notably, Rep Thomas Massie and Greene appeared together at a Capitol Hill press conference to announce that they will work to have the Republican leader removed for his "three betrayals" of conservative goals.

Marjorie Taylor Greene vows to move on Johnson's ouster next week

She said, "I think every member of Congress needs to take that vote and let the chips fall where they may. Next week, I am going to be calling a motion to vacate — absolutely calling it. I can’t wait to see Democrats go out and support a Republican speaker and have to go home to their primary and have to run for Congress again."

She added, "‘Have you supported a Republican conservative?' I think that’ll play well." However, Johnson said, "This motion is wrong for the Republican conference, wrong for the institution, and wrong for the country."

Notably, RNC chairman Michael Whatley met with the House Republican conference on Tuesday, April 30, according to a GOP official who spoke to the New York Post. Whatley discussed the significance of "unity" and "expanding the majority in the House"

The official stated that although Greene was not present for the meeting, he had asked to meet with Whatley "ten minutes" later. Whatley reaffirmed at the meeting that "party unity" was crucial to Donald Trump and that 'infighting' may hurt Republicans in the election, according to the GOP official.

However, Greene resisted, the official said, claiming she had already talked to Trump that afternoon and that there was still plenty of time before November to remove the speaker.

Notably, Democrats and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries stated on Tuesday that it would be killed if Greene's move to vacate got to the floor. They cited Johnson's backing of a $95 billion foreign aid bill for Taiwan, Israel, and the Ukraine.

The speaker's vacillating position on renewing Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which permits the unlawful gathering of American information and conversations with foreign nationals, was also observed by Greene and Massie.

Internet trolls MTG as she seeks vote to remove Speaker Johnson

Several Internet users trolled Marjorie Taylor Greene as she said that she would seek a vote to remove House Speaker Mike Johnson "next week."

A user posted on X, "OUST Marjorie Taylor Greene for sedition instead," while one added, "It's gonna be hilarious when her motion fails!"

A person wrote, "It will not work. I wish she would start a third official party, Independent is not a party," while another mentioned, "Marjorie's job is to disrupt so that nothing else gets done."

A person stated, "I am a staunch conservative and I cannot stand her or Lauren Bobert. Both grifters and fakes," while one said, "Get rid of her. Waste of time."
