LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pop sensation Chappell Roan, fresh off her Grammy win for Best New Artist, has drawn criticism with her bold opinions on parenthood.

The 27-year-old artist recently sat down with Alex Cooper for a candid interview on her 'Call Her Daddy' podcast, where she didn’t hold back on her thoughts about parenthood.

Chappell Roan's critical take on marriage and parenthood

During the podcast, Chappell Roan expressed skepticism about the institution of marriage, particularly in the context of same-sex relationships, per Whiskey Riff.

While she didn’t completely dismiss the idea, she raised concerns about the legalities and complexities of marrying a woman, hinting at a broader frustration with societal norms.

However, it was Roan’s take on parenting that truly ignited a firestorm.

She didn’t mince words when discussing the struggles she’s observed among her peers who have children.

"All of my friends who have kids are in hell. I actually don’t know anyone who’s like happy and has children at this age…," Roan said.

She added, "I have like a one-year-old, three and under, four and under, five and under… I literally have not met anyone who is happy, anyone who has light in their eye, or anyone who has slept… Why did my parents do this?"

One wrote, "Chappell Roan going on call her daddy saying none of her friends with kids are happy is a prime example of why you cannot just vent to anyone because I guarantee she has this perspective because a few of her mom friends are going through it and may a friendship like that never ever ever ever find me. May the friendships of narcissistic childless women with no sense of loyalty ever find me lol."

Another said, "She opens her mouth & garbage spills out. At some point it's not an accident, it's not a misunderstanding, she's just a smug little s**t who thinks her pain supersedes everyone else's and she's in a position to judge people and situations. She'll even says so when it suits her."

"On the podcast, Chapell told the host that she doesn’t know any people her ago who have kids and are happy. She even goes as far as to say that people her age with children 'are in hell'. Chapell Roan is 27 years old. I’m 24 years old. I’m happy. I’m not in hell. Becoming a mother is the best blessing I have ever received," a person said.

One more expressed, "Seems like Chappell Roan, like everyone else, isn't smart enough to know what she doesn't know. It looks like misery on the surface quite often, but the amount of love and bursts of joy that come out of that sacrifice are immeasurable."

"The problem isn't having kids. The problem is the people Roan's age that she knows," a comment read.

One more wrote, "Chappell Roan is a mean girl with extremely negative energy and I’m tired of pretending she’s not."

"I really don’t think most of these people understand what happiness is. Sure, are kids hard to raise, hell yeah! But is it worth it? Absolutely, will parents complain about how hard it is? Yes, but the joy you get when you see them grow and become adults… that is happiness," another person expressed.

"Here's the thing: if she's like most female entertainers, within 10 years she will get married, have kids, take time off for what she thinks will be a year or two...but will be longer because she loves spending time with her children," read another comment.
