CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA: The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) announced their endorsement for GOP nominee Donald Trump on Friday, September 6, at their fall meeting in the battleground state of North Carolina.

The FOP, which boasts over 375,000 members, is one of the nation's most influential law enforcement organizations, according to the Associated Press

"Our members have spoken, and it is my honor to share with you the overwhelming collective will of our membership," stated FOP National President Patrick Yoes. He added, "We are honored to have with us today the former and future President of the United States Donald J Trump, and offer him our enthusiastic endorsement."

"During his time at the White House, we had a partner and a leader. Today. Mr President, we stand with you," proclaimed Yoes.

Donald Trump doubles down on voter fraud claims at Fraternal Order of Police meeting

Accepting the endorsement of the FOP in Charlotte, Donald Trump went on to repeat his false claim that the 2020 election was rigged. He also promised to crack down on "Marxist prosecutors" to alleviate his legal woes over election interference

The former president said, "You want to run a country that is based on fair and free voting. You're in serious trouble if you get caught trying to find out what are the real results of an election. It’s an amazing thing. Do you ever see that?"

"They go after the people that are looking at the crime, and they do terrible things to them. But the people that committed the voter fraud and everything, they can do whatever they want to do. It’s so crazy," claimed Trump.

Trump's voter fraud claims have been rejected in dozens of state and federal courts, reported the AP. The January 6, 2021, Capitol Hill riot in which his supporters took part to "Stop the Steal" resulted in hundreds of them facing legal charges and being convicted.

"Watch for the voter fraud because we win without voter fraud," stated the MAGA spearhead, claiming that his opponents are "afraid" of the police.

Trump noted, "We win so easily. Hopefully, we're going to win anyway. But we want to keep it down. And you can keep it down just by watching because, believe it or not, they're afraid of that badge. They're afraid of you people. They're afraid of that more than anything else. They’re afraid. So I hope you can watch."

Internet slams Fraternal Order of Police for throwing their support behind Donald Trump

Netizens were outraged with the police union for endorsing Donald Trump, who has been convicted of multiple felony charges.

One wrote, "And people wonder why police are not trusted, now days. Here is your sign. Supporting a violent fanatical group of misfits is not helping your cause. Maybe they should be called: The Fraternal Order of Dirty Cops."

Another said, "Law enforcement loses all credibility when they endorse someone who was fairly tried by a jury of his peers and convicted."

"Bad cops love those Trump pardons!" jibed a person, while someone else expressed, "The corruption within the Fraternal Order of Police is evident."

"And police wonder why people they are supposed to serve do not trust them," stated one more, with another person saying, "Apparently the Fraternal Order of Police forgot all about what they did to the Capitol police on January 6th. Idiots."
