NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Pamela Anderson's appearance at the Met Gala 2025 on Monday, May 5, has been widely praised by her fans and admirers.

However, the Daily Mail got in hot water with many readers for describing her as "frumpy" in an article, which has since been reworked with a more positive spin.

Critics call Pamela Anderson ‘frumpy’ despite graceful presence at Met Gala 2025

While cosmetic surgeries and treatments to stop aging have been rampant in Hollywood, Pamela Anderson made headlines when she decided to stop wearing make-up in 2023, reported Buzzfeed. She won over her fans by breaking societal norms and opening herself up to aging gracefully.

However, the Daily Mail initially described the 57-year-old at the Met Gala as "frumpy," insisting that she "looks worlds away” from her “Baywatch glory days”. The actress was only 25 years old when she appeared on the television show, and it stands to reason that she looks different after more than three decades.

Anderson appeared at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in Manhattan on Monday evening wearing a grey Tory Burch gown. The floor-length long-sleeve apparel was covered in sparkling details and featured a bateau neckline and exaggerated hips.

Ditching her long blond tresses, Anderson wore her hair in a short, blunt bob. She kept her word of not accentuating her looks and wore minimal makeup to that effect, accessorizing with Pandora jewelry.

Her eldest son, Brandon Thomas Lee, 28, whom she shares with her former husband Tommy Lee, joined her at the event, looking dapper in a classic black tuxedo.

Internet defends Pamela Anderson's Met Gala 2025 look

Netizens on the social media platform X called out the Daily Mail over the hurtful remark against Pamela Anderson and hailed her look at the Met Gala 2025. The following tweets demonstrate their takes.

"Jesus Christ. Frumpy? She’s stunning and she’s 57 years old. Can we stop expecting women to look 23 their entire lives?" wrote a person.

"Person in 2025 doesn’t look exactly like they did in 1989, says a newspaper headline," chided another.

"And people wonder why so many actresses are trying to look as young as possible for as long as possible. Can we just let these women age gracefully," shared a third.

"Take off every women(& men!)'s make-up at the Met Gala & I'm pretty sure a lot of them will look a lot more 'frumpy'(what an ugly word). She's 57 & chose to not wear make up anymore, wanting to look like her true self & having to face such stupid comments, show some respect," slammed a fourth.

"Welcome back early naughties body dysmorphia headlines," jibed a fifth.

"She's 57!! Let her live her life. Is anyone angry that George Clooney let his hair go grey or that Matt Damon no longer has a six pack? No. Only women are expected to stay looking 25 while approaching 60! F**k off," stated yet another.
