HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA: Despite being a former president and the likely GOP presidential nominee, sources claimed that Donald Trump travels with a Secret Service group that is smaller than that of current presidents.

After Trump was hit in the ear by gunshot during an attempted assassination at a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, the Secret Service and local police descended upon him quickly, according to the New York Post.

However, insiders claimed that because Donald Trump is a candidate and not the president in office, his Secret Service security is not nearly as extensive as that of President Joe Biden.

According to insiders, Trump ought to have had more protection from the CIA because he is a former president. Sources said his campaign has requested further protection, but their request has been ignored.

Moreover, sources added that Trump is vulnerable since he does not have aviation coverage, counterattack, or countersniper defenses. Local law enforcement was present to help his security detail at the Pennsylvania event on Saturday, but their powers are not as great as those of the Secret Service, which is a division of the Department of Homeland Security.

The shooter was positioned about 130 yards from the stage on the top of an industrial facility. Secret Service snipers swiftly put an end to the unnamed gunman, but not before he murdered one rally attendee and gravely wounded another.

Notably, from his vantage point, the gunman had an almost unhindered view of the former president during the outdoor ceremony at the Butler Farm Show grounds.

The gunman was killed by the counter-sniper squad, which, according to sources who spoke to the New York Post, returned fire from the roof of a nearby building, which was behind the audience stands, near where Trump was standing.

Several internet users were furious and outraged as sources revealed that Trump travels with a Secret Service group that is smaller than that of current presidents.

Many people said that is a 'failure of epic proportions by the security to protect Trump' while some said Trump should get more Secret Service.

One of the online comments read, "A failure of epic proportions by the security to protect Trump. To have a roof with in eye sight of the stage not having an agent on the roof is total failure. This is basic security by the SS to secure all roofs and buildings with in eye sight of event . Heads need to roll fast."

One person wrote, "It was the final rally before DJT would become the official nominee. And the building in question was closest to the stage. Now connect the dots," while another added, "Give Trump more Secret Service and they should bloody well get it for RFK. What a no class thing from the Biden administration but considering they just used the American justice system as a spittoon, why should that be a shock?"

One individual stated, "The person in charge of allotting SS protection is none other than DHS head Mayorkas. It's not shocking he hasn't granted the Trump campaign more protection that they requested from DHS."

Another added, "Another jfk plot thank goodness it failed!"
