Why is Aimee Osbourne not popular like her famous family members?
Aimee is the firstborn of Ozzy and Sharon, who came into this world in September 1983. She grew up in California with her family but when the filming of ‘The Osbournes’ began, she left home at 16, Daily Mail reported. She did not want to showcase her life on television as a young woman.
The 40-year-old, who made a career in music and now serves as lead singer for pop band ARO, reportedly shared, “Back then, I still felt I was trying to figure out who I was in the chaos of family life, so why on earth would I want that portrayed on television?”
“I wanted to protect myself, my parents, my siblings, too. They were very young, very impressionable,” Aimee noted during an interview with The Independent in 2015. The actress also noted, “It didn't matter what I thought, ultimately. This was their path, their decision, and they were of course at liberty to take the opportunity. Which they did.”
Aimee Osbourne respects her family members' choices
Aimee went on to mention, “I'll be having lunch with my mum and she'll complain about the paparazzi outside. I tell her that she could have worn a beanie, but of course she never does.”
“She loves it – it's how she chooses to connect with people. That's fine, I can respect that. But I'm the opposite. I always have been,” Aimee added.
Besides, in 2018, her mother also revealed on ‘The Talk’, “She felt too that she didn't want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea — it was appalling to her.”
The British-American TV personality stated, “And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did. It broke my heart when she moved.”
Why are Kelly and Aimee Osbourne not close to each other?
Kelly once disclosed the reason behind not sharing a good relationship with Aimee. The 39-year-old singer on the Dax Shepard podcast - ‘Armchair Expert’ - reportedly said, “We don't talk. We're just really different. She doesn't understand me and I don't understand her.”
Also, Aimee told The Independent, “I wouldn't say there is an ease between us but there is an acceptance. Do we socialize? No.”
