Andrea Canning expresses shock over Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff's death

Pamela, who was married to David Hasselhoff from 1989 to 2006, shared two daughters, Taylor and Hayley, with the actor.
She first met Andrea Canning in 1995 when the journalist was an intern at 'Baywatch.'
Their professional connection quickly blossomed into a long-term friendship, with Canning living at the family's Sherman Oaks home while assisting with the children.
“I wasn’t expecting this,” Canning told People, expressing her shock and grief over Pamela’s death.
Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff's health struggles following a devastating accident
Andrea Canning recalled that Pamela Bach's struggles intensified after a 2003 motorcycle accident she and David Hasselhoff were involved in.
Longtime friend and former representative Terry Ahern previously revealed that the crash left Pamela with severe injuries, including a broken neck and back.
Over time, she also developed arthritis, further impacting her mobility and quality of life.

“The last time I saw her, she was walking with a cane. She wasn’t the Pamela I knew,” Canning said.
“She was just having difficulty getting around. It took a toll on her, that accident,” she added.
Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff's financial woes and uncertainty
Beyond her health struggles, Pamela Bach also faced ongoing financial difficulties.
According to Andrea Canning, Pamela frequently voiced concerns about her financial situation.
“There were times she’d say, ‘I’m going to be homeless. I have to get out of this house,’ but then it never happened. I don’t know how she managed to stay there or pay her bills,” Canning explained.

Despite her hardships, Pamela remained supportive of her friends.
She frequently reached out to Canning whenever she received holiday cards, expressing pride in her former assistant’s family and career.
Andrea Canning says Pamela Bach had a 'positive outlook' on life
Andrea Canning noted that while Pamela Bach battled many personal struggles, she also maintained a warm and engaging personality.
“She definitely had troubles, but she also had a really positive outlook on life as well. The longer I got to know her, the nicer she became,” she shared.
“She was the life of the party when she walked into a room. She was outgoing, talked to anyone, and had an unforgettable laugh,” Canning recalled.

Reflecting on Pamela's more private, vulnerable side, Canning said, “There were two sides to her."
“One was the glamorous, put-together Pamela, and the other was the later-in-life Pamela, who was troubled and searching for direction,” she added.
