Patrick Mahomes playfully teases Chiefs coach Andy Reid for being a 'skinny Santa'
KANSAS CITY, KANSAS: Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid brought holiday cheer to his team on Christmas Day by dressing up as Santa Claus.
However, quarterback Patrick Mahomes humorously noted that Reid's Santa suit might need an upgrade due to his weight loss.
Andy Reid delivers holiday surprise in Kansas City Chief locker room
Andy Reid, 66, surprised his team in the locker room after their 29-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 25.
The festive appearance delighted his players, but Patrick, 29, jokingly remarked that his coach no longer fits the traditional Santa image.
“He’s getting kinda skinny for the Santa, He’s getting kinda skinny for the Santa," Patrick told reporters after the game. Despite this, he acknowledged that Reid “fits the role perfectly," US Weekly reported.

Patrick further noted that Reid's weight loss is beneficial for his health. “It’s good for his health,” He said, “so he’ll be a skinny Santa from now on.”
Reid, who appears slimmer on the sidelines this season, credited “one of my elves” for packing the Santa suit.
“I can’t tell you the secrets,” Reid said slyly. “But there was an elf involved. For all you non-believers out there, doggunnit.”

The couple, already parents to daughter Sterling Skye, three, and son Bronze, two, hopes for the baby's arrival during a Chiefs' bye week.
“Brittany says I've been stressing her out too much this season,” Patrick said during the interview. “So I got to try to not put so much stress on her through these football games.”
In an interview with Sports Center during his Christmas Day game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Patrick still focused on the goal: his third child.
"I told my pregnant wife I was gonna get her the number one seed so we can go have that baby," he said in a clip shared on Instagram by the outlet. "So we got that number one seed."
Resharing Patrick's statement on her Instagram Stories, Brittany praised her husband for "always keeping his promises."
