KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Patrick Mahomes turned Santa for the Kansas City Chiefs linemen ahead of Christmas. However, NFL fans are curious to know whether he has anything in store for the referees.

Staying true to the NFL tradition of the quarterbacks gifting the offensive linemen during Christmases, Mahomes, 29, spent thousands of dollars to bestow lavish gifts on his O-Line.

Though the Chiefs’ O-Line ranked just 18th out of 32 teams over the past four weeks, the star QB’s generous gifting is bound to boost their spirits up during the holiday season.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ linemen were down for a massive surprise on Thursday, December 19, when they entered the dressing room.

There lay luxurious hampers consisting of sunglasses, watches, and boots among others.

According to Front Office Sports, Mahomes created the hampers with hand-picked gifts that included Oakley sunglasses, Yeti coolers, Lucchese boots, Normatec recovery boots and the star of the show, Rolex watches.

WhiskeyRiff further dug into the prices of the gifts, and came to the conclusion that Mahomes spent around $ 8.5K for each hamper, including a $6K Rolex watch, Oakley Sunglasses priced at  $240, Yeti Cooler costing $425 each, Lucchese Boots retailing at $895 a pair, and Normatec Elite Recovery System, priced at $899. Altogethger, the outlet reported that Mahomes may have spent around $85,000 to gift the ten linemen.

As the components of the gifts were shared online, fans were left divided in their opinions as they suggested Mahomes could have given them anything but the expensive gifts to power the game in the rest of the season.

Some fans of the rival teams also jokingly asked what the referees were getting. More often than not, rival team fans allege that NFL referees behave leniently with the Kansas City Chiefs during the matches.

Internet wonders what's in store for referees after Patrick Mahomes' generous gifts for linesmen

As the contents of the Christmas hampers that Patrick Mahomes gifted to the linesmen were disclosed online, social media users expressed their opinions on the matter. While some pointed out Mahomes is quite generous for gifting such expensive hampers, some others quipped about what he might be gifting to the referees.

One of the social media users asked, "What did he get the refs this year?"

"I wonder what he got for the refs that never call holding penalties 🤔," added someone else.

Another netizen chimed in, "Is this the package he gave the refs for all the no calls?"

Another fan praised the hamper saying, "Some nice gifts right there!"

"Damn. Imagine if they actually protected him what they would get," quipped someone else.

Another fan added jokingly, "They should all pitch in and buy him an ankle brace."

A user wondered, "Curious how many guys get this package? The 5 starters obviously. What about guys who play when someone is injured? Bottom of the roster/practice squad guys, any love for them?"

"Do they give him any Christmas gift? Or is it only him giving them?" asked another user.

Someone else, meanwhile, added, "Not diminishing the gifts, but how many of those companies have endorsement deals w Pat? I know he definitely has one w Oakley. I'm sure he ponied up for the Rolexs but I'd venture to be the rest is from companies that he works with. Still nice sentiment. Merry Christmas."

"He’s a good human because I’d have given them coal for the way they were playing," sarcastically added another.

Someone else noted, "Should have bought them all Lego kits. Then maybe they would have an idea what blocks are."
