“It’s with an incredibly heavy heart that I need to share with you an update regarding some injuries I’ve recently sustained," the 62-year-old pop icon expressed in a lengthy statement shared to the social media app.

“In an effort to keep going, I’ve received targeted injections that will allow me temporary relief, but the demands of an entire tour is a different story."

She explained, “After multiple consultations with my doctors and exploring all available options, I’ve been advised that one of my injuries requires a minor procedure followed by a 6-8 week recovery time, therefore it will prohibit me from proceeding with the Straight Up! To Canada Tour as well as the dates in Alaska and North Dakota.”

The Straight Up! to Canada Tour was initially slated to launch on September 25 in Victoria, British Columbia, and conclude on October 26 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, with additional stops in Fargo, North Dakota, and Anchorage, Alaska.

Just weeks prior, Abdul appeared healthy as she joined New Kids on the Block for their Magic Summer 2024 Tour, which wrapped up on August 25.

Her social media presence had been equally upbeat, with a recent "#ThrowbackThursday" post reflecting on her early days as a performer.

“Now that the Magic Summer Tour has come to an end, I’ve been reminiscing on all of my time spent on the road. Who came out to see the 'Under Your Spell’ Tour in 1991 or 1992!? We’ve come a long way since then, and I cannot wait for what’s still in store! ✨💜,” she reminisced on August 29.
