Davidson first announced his commitment to removing his tattoos in 2020 during a Q&A for 'The King of Staten Island', explaining that he had already started with his hands.
"I honestly never thought that I would get an opportunity to act, and I love it a lot," told the actor during an appearance on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' in 2021.
Talking about the extensive time it takes to cover up his tattoos for film roles, he said, "It takes, like, three hours… For some reason, people in movies, they don’t have them that much."
Davidson was next seen getting his tattoos removed during a Smartwater commercial when he helped the company launch the first-ever Rehydration Day following the Independence Day weekend.
In the ad, he says, "I've made a lot of questionable choices, and a couple of them need removing. But now I'm trying to make smarter choices, hydrating with smartwater and stuff like that."
However, he later told PeopleTV host Jeremy Parsons that it's actually been "about four or five months" since his last tattoo removal session.
He further shared with People, "I get my next treatment [in] like a month or so. They said by the time I'm 30, they should all be gone. So they got like two more years left of this."
