NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Post Malone revealed that his life took a significant turn for the better, thanks to his two-year-old daughter and fiancee's influence.

In a recent interview with CBS, the multi-genre artist shared that he was on a "rough path" four years ago, battling loneliness and unhealthy habits despite his success.

Post Malone reflects on 'terrible' challenges in life

Speaking about the challenges in life, Post Malone said, "Everything. It was terrible."

Reflecting on that period, Malone described his daily routines as "gettin' up, havin' a good cry, drinkin,' and then goin' living your life."

"And then whenever you go lay down, drinkin' some more and having a good cry. And just like, 'I gotta wake up tomorrow and do this again.' And I don't feel like that anymore. And it's the most amazing thing," he continued.

"I needed to for myself, to figure who I am," he added.

Post Malone finds solace in Nashville, Tennessee

The 'Sunflower' singer has been putting down roots in Nashville, Tennessee, a place he now considers a significant part of his happiness.

In an interview with Kelleigh Bannon for Apple Music, the 29-year-old singer discussed the transition to Nashville and the positive impact it has had on his life.

"It's really nice meeting people in Nashville that made me feel so welcome and new friends and kind of building new stuff, and for once, I'm not sad anymore. I'm happy, very happy," said Malone.

"L.A. is L.A. and working here, I've always felt very distracted, and it's nice to go to Nashville and really just meet people who are the best at what they do and who are super kind and super talented," he added.

Post Malone on how becoming a parent has shifted his priorities

The 'Myself' singer said he once embraced the bustling lifestyle of Los Angeles but now prefers the quieter, more focused environment of Nashville.

He said that before having his two-year-old daughter, he was able to "to go out and then come back and then work," now he just "wants to go jam and just make music and then without being like, oh, come out."

Malone's recent debut at the Stagecoach music festival in April, where he performed for the first time at a country music event, was a clear indication of his newfound contentment.

"I was having the time of my life. I was happy," he shared, according to Fox News.

As part of his transition to Nashville, Post Malone has been exploring a more country-oriented sound.

The album features collaborations with country legends like Dolly Parton and Tim McGraw, and contemporary stars such as Morgan Wallen and Jelly Roll.

He expressed his excitement about the creative process in Nashville, noting the stark difference from his experience in Los Angeles.

The rapper explained that when he is in LA, "it's always like someone wants something from you. And that's something I didn't see often in Nashville."

"I mean, I'm sure it's somewhere; it's just I think I found a group of really, really good folks … It was such a fresh thing going and watching this band and writing with new people, and I'm so f*****g pumped," he added.
