LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's most recent Netflix project 'Polo', the latest in their £80 million ($102 million) agreement with the streaming service, has received negative reviews from critics who labeled the project "boring" and "tedious."

The five-part documentary series 'Polo' is co-produced by Boardwalk Pictures — which has produced sports docuseries such as 'Welcome To Wrexham' — and Archewell, a production company established by Harry and Meghan, according to Decider.

Critics label Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 'Polo' series 'boring and tedious'

Despite the probably high expectations that 'Polo' would join the classic sports documentaries like 'Welcome to Wrexham' and 'The Last Dance', Prince Harry and Meghan's sports series has received negative reviews from critics.

Based on the equestrian sport he has played since he was a young boy, the show was executive produced by Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan.

However, the final product appears to have fallen short of expectations, yet the project had all the makings of a possible success for the streaming service.

The five-part program has been rated as "a tedious inside-look at posh polo" and a "mostly boring look at a sport that very few people outside of elite circles have any particular interest in," with reviews giving it two stars or less, according to Daily Mail.

"'Polo' is a mostly boring look at a sport that very few people outside of elite circles have any particular interest in," Decider wrote in its review, urging viewers to "skip" the series.

"The first episode was tough to connect with, because it presents a world that not only isn’t very relatable to most people, but is boring to boot," critic Joel Keller added.

However, that writer acknowledged that "if you want to find out about the nuts and bolts of the game of polo, then 'Polo' should be an interesting watch."

Stuart Heritage of The Guardian gave the show only two stars, saying, "'Polo' looks destined to fall through the submenus into obscurity at the speed of light."

The Guardian further called polo a "playground of the rich" and "the stupidest, most obnoxious sport known to humanity."

Meanwhile, Ed Power of The Telegraph observed that there were "not enough of the Sussexes to make this anything other than a dull indulgence about a rich person’s pursuit."

Power pointed out that Prince Harry's appearance in his own series was "bafflingly little" in his two-star rating of 'Polo.' He claimed, "Netflix and Archewell team up for a tedious inside-look at posh polo – and for once, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex don’t hog the limelight."

Viewers label Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix 'Polo' documentary 'boring'

Not only did critics find the five-part series unimpressive, but some viewers also called Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix 'Polo' documentary "boring."

New Zealand-British journalist and presenter Dan Wootton wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "I sat through five hours of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 'Polo' so you don’t have to. It is the worst series in the history of Netflix and the final nail in the coffin in the Hollywood career of the Sussexes."

A second viewer added, "RNN BS News says that 'Polo' was boring, uninteresting, and not compelling at all. In fact, she found it so tedious, that by 16.50 GMT she was on episode 4! She’s definitely a fan."

Royal News Network added, "Final assessment on ‘Polo’ is that it suffers from the problems of every other Prince Harry and Meghan Markle documentary. It's bloated, unfocused and, overall, shockingly boring. They suffer from the inability to find and craft a story, which is a sort of a key issue in the entertainment industry. No wonder they’re failing out."

Another viewer wrote in part, "'Polo', the new Netflix series from Prince Harry and Meghan is as bad and forgettable as everything they do. When Prince Harry and Meghan saw the breadth of their Netflix deal, they wept in despair for there were no more family members to slag off but this show is important to understand the kind of friends they still have."

"'Polo' on Netflix shows God doesn't reward the good with material riches...it's not a scale of goodness or deservedness..what a bunch of selfish wankers..unwatchable 0/5," rated one.

Another remarked, "I guess even The Guardian newspaper, usually a Prince Harry and Meghan cheerleader, is cringing and laughing at 'Polo' too possibly the worst show on ⁦@netflix."

"WHAT . A . FLOP! It's official! Prince Harry & Meghan's 'Polo' show is the worst Netflix production in history. This failure is the final nail in the Harkles' coffin," snarked one.
