MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: Prince Harry is facing a fresh wave of online ridicule after his failed legal challenge over security arrangements in the UK left him with a staggering legal bill of $1.9 million.

The Duke of Sussex, who had sought to reinstate taxpayer-funded protection for himself, Meghan Markle, and their children during visits to Britain, not only lost the case but has now been ordered to pay costs for both sides.

Netizens say 'excellent news' as Prince Harry loses legal appeal over UK security

The case stems from Harry’s claim that it was unsafe for him and his family to visit the UK without government-provided security, despite stepping back from royal duties.

British authorities disagreed, arguing that his changed status did not entitle him to publicly funded protection.

Critics wasted no time taking to social media to celebrate the defeat and tear into Harry for what many called a “nuisance lawsuit.”

"Excellent news that Harry lost his appeal. Moreover, he may have to pay the legal bills for both sides, amounting to £1.5M," one user wrote alongside a screenshot of the story.

"At least the taxpayer would be remunerated for his nuisance lawsuit. £1.5M should be chicken feed for someone offering to pay for their own security. I wonder if his finances are enough to pay for an appeal to the Supreme Court. Only someone as stupid as Harry would go for it."

The post quickly gained traction, with viewers piling on.

Prince Harry mocked for losing legal trial over security

Some mocked Prince Harry's “sense of entitlement", while others questioned the logic of pursuing a legal battle he was unlikely to win, as per Irish Star.

One viewer chimed in, "Wants to live in america but charge us for his lifestyle."

Another added, "Don't you just love a happy ending. He has already cost the UK tax payer too much money."

Someone else noted, "Twit! What on earth persuaded him to believe the people of the country he betrayed and abandoned would foot the bill for anything he wants? What a complete, total and utter idiot!"

A viewer remarked, "Let him pay for his own security with his ill-gotten gains that he received by betraying his family for financial gain."

One comment declared, "Should never have been allowed to get this far. Correct decision."

Another observed, "Thank you to the court!!! Solves a moral issue as well. Harry is petulant and entitled."

As one person explained, "Thank god for a sensible judge. He is wealthy enough to fund his own protection. But no he wanted cash strapped tax payers to fund it. He is a disgrace."

In the wake of the court’s decision, Prince Harry has since expressed a desire for “reconciliation” with the rest of the royal family, though critics remain skeptical of his motives.
