Body language expert claims Prince Harry was on the 'verge of crying' during tense BBC interview

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prince Harry’s recent interview with the BBC has sparked headlines not just for his remarks about his relationship with the royal family, but for the emotional weight that accompanied them.
A body language expert weighed in on Prince Harry’s revealing BBC interview, where he appeared to reference his mother Princess Diana’s tragic death, saying, “some people want history to repeat itself,” reports Daily Star.
Expert says Prince Harry fought back tears during BBC interview
The Duke of Sussex revealed that he currently “can’t see a world” in which he would return to the UK with his wife and children at this point.
Following the interview, Buckingham Palace responded with a statement, “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”
While Harry expressed hope for future reconciliation, body language expert Inbaal Honigman weighed in on the emotional tone of the interview, suggesting that Prince Harry appeared to be on the verge of tears as he spoke.

“When Harry says that he can't see a world in which he'll be bringing his wife and children back to the UK, he tilts his head twice, sideways one way, then the other,” Honigman observed, noting, “The head tilt indicates submission, it suggests that he doesn't feel that any of this is his choice, but that he has to submit to the decisions handed to him by others.”
She continued, “Tilting the head is also linked to listening, as it's a move that exposes the ear, meaning that he isn't doing his own will at this point, but rather he feels that he's listening to others.”
Honigman also pointed to Harry’s subtle movements as clues to an internal struggle.

“When he speaks of loving his country, Harry is blinking back tears. His eyes moisten, and he swallows hard. This gulp shows that he's upset, and he glances upwards for a moment, as he's recalling memories at that time,” she said, adding, “Being on the verge of crying is a sign that Harry really does love his homeland, and is filled with regret at not being able to share that with his children.”
Prince Harry’s body language hints at hidden truths behind his public statements
The body language expert has suggested that Prince Harry’s recent comments may not reveal the full story behind his strained ties with the royal family.
“The Prince speaks of safety as the sticking point,” Honigman explained, “but when he says that it is 'the only thing that's left', he's actually shaking his head, saying 'no'. He's telling us that really, it is not the only thing that's left.”
This contradiction between speech and movement indicates that the safety issue might be an “excuse,” not the “actual reason.”
Honigman noted his behavior while discussing the prospect of reconciliation with his family. “There's a surprising amount of shoulder shrugging. The shoulder shrug is linked with indifference,” she said. “The Prince's detailed answer about reconciliation and how much he wants it is frequently punctuated by shoulder shrugs, and they reveal that really, he can take it or leave it. He's not as driven by the need to reconcile, as he claims.”
