LONDON, ENGLAND: Prince Harry reportedly felt "disappointed" as no one in his family could "see a similarity" between his then-girlfriend Meghan Markle and his late mother, Princess Diana, a new book has revealed.

The book 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors' by British author Tom Bower talks about a critical moment when Prince Harry hoped that Princess Diana's sisters would draw parallels between the two, according to the Mirror US.

Tom Bower wrote in his book, "Harry assumed that Diana's family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancee. Both, he said, shared the same problems."

However, the book stated, "He (Harry) was disappointed. No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend."

He also talked about the connection he feels his late mother would have had with Meghan during the couple's engagement interview with the BBC in 2017.

Prince Harry says police protection was removed to ‘trap’ him and Meghan Markle in UK

Prince Harry recently alleged that the removal of his police protection was an attempt to "trap" him and Meghan Markle within the royal family.

Notably, the decision to remove his security caused a major rift between him and King Charles.

The Duke of Sussex said that he was shocked by the move, which was “difficult to swallow”, according to The Telegraph.

Prince Harry and Meghan's taxpayer-funded security was withdrawn after they stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States to start a new life.

The prince was in London recently to attend a two-day appeal hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice, where he is challenging the decision to remove his police protection when in the UK.

He spoke briefly outside the court saying, "We were trying to create this happy house."

Harry hoped that building a peaceful life outside the royal family would help in healing relations.

However, the couple felt that the removal of the security detail was an alleged attempt to pressurize them to return to the UK and remain within the royal family.

The Duke of Sussex took legal action against the UK government, seeking to restore his official security arrangements.
