Prince Harry was disappointed as his family couldn’t see ‘similarity’ between Meghan Markle and Diana

LONDON, ENGLAND: Prince Harry reportedly felt "disappointed" as no one in his family could "see a similarity" between his then-girlfriend Meghan Markle and his late mother, Princess Diana, a new book has revealed.
The book 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors' by British author Tom Bower talks about a critical moment when Prince Harry hoped that Princess Diana's sisters would draw parallels between the two, according to the Mirror US.
Prince Harry 'disappointed' as no one could see Meghan Markle and Princess Diana similarity
Tom Bower wrote in his book, "Harry assumed that Diana's family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancee. Both, he said, shared the same problems."
However, the book stated, "He (Harry) was disappointed. No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend."

Bower further wrote, "More discomforting for him, they thought Meghan would not fit in with the royal family."
Despite this, Harry never stopped comparing Meghan with his mother and has often drawn parallels between his wife and his mother's compassionate nature and allure, according to the Express.

In the 2022 Netflix docuseries 'Harry and Meghan', the prince mentioned, "So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum. She has the same compassion, the same empathy, the same confidence. She has this warmth about her."
He also talked about the connection he feels his late mother would have had with Meghan during the couple's engagement interview with the BBC in 2017.

He said, "I think she (Diana) would be over the moon, jumping up and down, so excited for me, but then, as I said, she would have probably been best friends – best friends with Meghan."
Prince Harry says police protection was removed to ‘trap’ him and Meghan Markle in UK
Prince Harry recently alleged that the removal of his police protection was an attempt to "trap" him and Meghan Markle within the royal family.
Notably, the decision to remove his security caused a major rift between him and King Charles.
The Duke of Sussex said that he was shocked by the move, which was “difficult to swallow”, according to The Telegraph.

Prince Harry and Meghan's taxpayer-funded security was withdrawn after they stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States to start a new life.
The prince was in London recently to attend a two-day appeal hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice, where he is challenging the decision to remove his police protection when in the UK.
He spoke briefly outside the court saying, "We were trying to create this happy house."

Harry hoped that building a peaceful life outside the royal family would help in healing relations.
However, the couple felt that the removal of the security detail was an alleged attempt to pressurize them to return to the UK and remain within the royal family.
The Duke of Sussex took legal action against the UK government, seeking to restore his official security arrangements.
