MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: The Prince Harry deportation controversy took another turn this week with conservative think tank, The Heritage Foundation, arguing that he should leave the US given that he "hates America".

The Heritage has successfully pushed for the release of documents related to Harry’s visa application but as many legal experts had predicted, the files were heavily redacted, revealing no information that might lead to his expulsion from the United States.

After a federal court had ordered the release of the documents based on a freedom of information request by the Heritage Foundation, the Department of Homeland Security released them earlier this week.

However, they are heavily redacted and offer no details on what Harry put on his immigration form.

Second lawsuit filed to uncover Prince Harry’s US immigration records

Samuel Dewey, a lawyer representing the Heritage Foundation, disclosed that the right-wing think tank has filed a second lawsuit seeking Prince Harry's immigration records to be made public to determine whether he was truthful about his past drug use on the forms

This claim stems from Harry’s own admission in his memoir 'Spare' where he acknowledged using cocaine, magic mushrooms, marijuana, and ayahuasca. The Heritage aruged that the drug use admission should have disqualified him from obtaining a visa. Therefore, he must have lied when moving to the US, they alleged.

Dewey made his case in an interview with the DailyMail, stating, “If Harry lied he should be prosecuted and deported if necessary.”

“If he’d say I used drugs or was in on a diplomatic visa that would be in the DHS files,” Dewey claimed.

“Then you wouldn’t have this situation where the judge says I don’t have the full story. That’s what we read from these documents," said Dewey.

He further alleged that Harry received preferential treatment, pointing to discrepancies between files held by the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security.

Heritage Foundation lawyer claims Prince Harry 'clearly hates America'

According to reports, Prince Harry’s political opponents remain determined to have him removed from the country.

With their legal challenge hitting a dead end, they’ve now pivoted to a new strategy, directly encouraging him to leave.

While the Heritage Foundation frames its argument around immigration law, Dewey’s comments suggest a broader political motivation.

He also pointed to Harry’s past criticisms of President Donald Trump as a reason the Duke of Sussex should leave the US.

“He’s in a country he clearly hates. He’s clearly furious at the American voters and attacking them for the result of the 2024 election. Harry should just go home,” Dewey asserted.

Although Harry has not been an outspoken critic of Trump, Dewey cites the duke’s past remarks about “weak moral character in the world”, alleging they were directed at the former president.

The Heritage Foundation had earlier urged Donald Trump to release Prince Harry’s full immigration records.

Heritage director Nile Gardiner stated in January, I’ll be urging the president to release Prince Harry’s immigration records and the president does have that legal authority to do that."

“It’s important because this is an issue of the rule of law, transparency and accountability. No one should be above the law,” Gardiner told New York Post.

Despite the redacted documents offering little evidence to support their claims, the Heritage Foundation remains undeterred.

As the legal drama unfolds, experts maintain that deportation remains highly unlikely for a public figure like Harry, especially not for comments about the president or for past revelations of drug use.

Yet, reports have suggested that the push to force the Duke of Sussex out of the US won't stop anytime soon.
