LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Prince Harry lost interest in the Sentebale charity after he married Meghan Markle in 2018 and moved to the United States in 2020, the charity's co-founder, Prince Seeiso's brother, claimed.

Harry founded the organization in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana, in 2006 with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to help young people and children in southern Africa, particularly those living with HIV and Aids, according to Daily Mail.

Prince Harry last visited Lesotho in October 2024, his first visit in the last six years. He had visited more frequently earlier, making four trips between June 2010 and the end of 2015, per the outlet.

Speaking with The Telegraph, Prince Seeiso's brother, Chief Khoabane Theko, said he was "perturbed" when Prince Harry and Meghan failed to visit Lesotho when on holiday in Africa.

He told the outlet that he believes the Duke of Sussex could have visited "more often".

"When Sentebale was launched, I remember his words quite vividly, because he was very strong in saying 'my mother, this place, her passion about Africa' and all that," the Chief said.

Chief Theko, who wasn't aware that the Duke of Sussex had visited Lesotho twice since his marriage, continued, "He's a loved figure because of his openness, but his loss of interest has totally killed the spirit of the Sentebale's survival."

He added, "I haven't seen him since he got himself married."

Notably, both Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso stepped down from their positions in the charity in March after a string of allegations from the charity's chairman, Sophie Chandauka.

Sentebale head Sophie Chandauka accuses Prince Harry of harassment

In March 2025, Sentebale's head, Dr Sophie Chandauka, accused Prince Harry of harassment and bullying.

Meanwhile, a source close to the former trustees dismissed her claims as "completely baseless," deepening the controversy surrounding Harry.

Notably, Chandauka accused Prince Harry of "harassment and bullying at scale," and claimed that he "unleashed the Sussex machine" against her, according to Daily Mail.

She stated in a message directed at Prince Harry, "The team is resolved that Sentebale will live on, with or without you."

Interestingly, she first felt tension with the Duke of Sussex a year ago and alleged that she was asked to defend Meghan Markle against negative publicity, which she refused to do.

Moreover, the situation escalated when the charity’s trustees resigned after relations with Chandauka "broke down beyond repair" and Prince Harry quit Sentebale in solidarity with the.

Chandauka said in an interview with The Financial Times that Prince Harry's controversial public image had hindered Sentebale’s progress.

She said, "The number one risk for this organization was the toxicity of its lead patron’s brand."

She implied that Prince Harry’s reputation since moving to the US had negatively impacted the charity’s ability to attract donors and senior hires.

Moreover, she added, "When you start to interview people, they're asking questions about, well, these mixed messages around the patron."
