LONDON, ENGLAND: Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton are reportedly hoping for a different route for their two youngest children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

However, they are already preparing their eldest son, Prince George, for his future kingly responsibilities.

But William and Kate have different plans for their youngest two children, and are preparing to lead them away from the route of official royal obligations, per Radar Online.

Charlotte and Louis will reportedly be 'encouraged' to not be working royals

An insider claimed that the Prince and Princess of Wales wish to protect Prince Louis, 6, and Princess Charlotte, 9, from the demands of royal responsibilities amid the current upheaval of the British monarchy, which is being driven by the controversial exits of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

As William and Kate take the throne in the future, Louis and Charlotte will be "encouraged to not become working royals," per their ambitious plans to change the British monarchy.

A former employee of Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace told The Daily Beast on June 21, "The working assumption is that the younger two children will get on and do their own thing. They will be encouraged to not become working royals."

The source added: "The option isn’t there for George, of course, but the children have been kept at arm’s length from royal life. They are exposed to the minimum possible publicity, and that is a deliberate strategy to let Charlotte and Louis choose their own destiny."

King Charles III's reign has seen a sharp decline in the number of official royals, as observed by the considerably reduced appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on Saturday, June 22, during the Trooping the Colour procession.

The next in line for the throne, William and Kate, are expected to have a significant influence on how the palace develops.

Prince William's failing relationship with Prince Harry played significant role in bold decision

Another insider informed the publication that William's failing relationship with his younger brother Prince Harry played a significant role in the decision to forgo having Charlotte and Louis follow in the footsteps of their older brother.

The source claimed, "It is no secret that William has been devastated by the destruction of his relationship with Harry."

"Although he absolutely puts the blame on Meghan and Harry, he does of course also appreciate that the whole system, where one of your kids is less important than the other due to an accident of birth, had a massive part to play in what happened and how it happened."

The insider further explained: "There is an entirely reasonable argument to be made that if you are born into the royal family, the logical thing to do is to leave it. The same logic applies to your kids, he doesn’t want to put them through a human mincer that is going to cause everyone misery."

"He and Catherine adore the children, and their whole lives are about the children. I think they want to find a practical solution to the ‘spare’ problem that has bedeviled the family for generations."

The disclosures came after the Daily Mail revealed that William supported his father's plan to simplify the monarchy, with the prince speculating that the number of royals in active service would be further reduced.

"When the older members of the family retire, [William] won’t be inviting anyone else to become working royals. It remains to be seen if he will even want his two younger children to be working royals," a family friend said.
