LONDON, UK: In standing steadfast beside his ailing wife, Prince William demonstrates the unwavering commitment that any devoted husband would exhibit.

The Prince of Wales had to forgo his attendance at King Constantine of Greece’s memorial service at St George’s Chapel in February. He made this decision to stand by his wife, Kate Middleton, in a time of need.

He was supposed to read from Revelation 21:1-7, which is a popular reading for funerals that says, "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth."

Kate Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis in an emotional video

Now, after the new revelation about the Princess of Wales’ cancer diagnosis, it all makes sense.

Prince William and Kate Middleton were seen leaving Windsor on March 11, but only William attended the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in central London later that afternoon.

On Friday, March 22, it was revealed by Kate Middleton herself that she has cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

The 42-year-old underwent a "planned abdominal surgery" on January 17, during which Kensington Palace stated it was determined to be non-cancerous.

A spokesperson from Kensington Palace stated at that time, "We will not be sharing any further private medical information. The Princess has a right to medical privacy, as we all do."

Meanwhile, Kate expressed gratitude for everyone's concern and support, as reported by the DailyMail.

Princess Kate shared that she received "wonderful messages of support" during her recovery. Reflecting on her journey, she described it as "an incredibly challenging couple of months for our entire family."

"In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous," she said.

"The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment."

The Internet lauds Prince William for his gesture and Kate's composure

Netizens shared their reactions to Prince William’s decision and voiced their thoughts on Kate’s cancer diagnosis.

“What a lovely dignified strong man Prince William is. The heartbreak of finding this out along with the stress caused by his spiteful brother, his father’s ill health, and the losses the family have had to deal with over the past few years,” wrote one. [sic]

Another user said, “There's no way they only found out that recently. Her biopsies would've been done directly after surgery and I'm thinking she didn't have to wait 2 weeks for results like I did.”

“Kate was forced to make a statement while she is in recovery and wants privacy as many us is would want because people are selfish and small minded and wouldn't let up on her and William. Sad,” felt another user. [sic]

“You can take care of your wife's illness and still WORK!” commented a person.

A Kate admirer wrote, “What a sweet soul, Kate has. She took full responsibility, for that photograph, when she is ill. She has a lot of humility.” [sic]
