Prince William shows 'endearing sign' that he has a favorite among his three children
CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA: Prince William, 42, is well-known for his dedication to his children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Yet, among them, experts believe that his relationship with nine-year-old Princess Charlotte stands out as particularly special as evident from a couple of instances in the past.
Prince William’s ‘Papa’ bracelet crafted by Princess Charlotte
Royal expert and former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond recently highlighted the unique closeness between William and Charlotte.
Bond said, “I think daughters and dads tend to have a very special relationship – especially when there’s only one little girl in the family. And this seems to be true for William.”
Prince William’s affection for Charlotte was evident during his visit to Cape Town in November for the Earthshot Prize.
He was seen wearing a meaningful keepsake: a homemade friendship bracelet crafted by his daughter.
The bracelet, featuring small blue beads spelling out “Papa,” was not only a sweet gesture but also a statement of their close connection.
In light of the heartfelt gesture, Jennie Bond shared her insights with OK! Magazine, as per The US Sun.
“William will have known that the bracelet she made for him would draw a huge amount of attention - he wore it proudly and prominently. It was an endearing sign of how close he is to his daughter," she said.
Bond also emphasized that Charlotte likely felt immense pride seeing her father represent such an important cause: “I’m sure Charlotte will have watched her dad in South Africa with pride, especially after such a brutal year.”

The future King shared that he had promised to wear the bracelet during his trip and "try not to lose" it.
Prince William shaves beard for Princess Charlotte
This tender father-daughter relationship extends into their everyday lives, where Charlotte’s influence on her father is apparent.
William once recounted how Charlotte reacted tearfully to his attempt at a new look - sporting a trendy beard.
Overwhelmed by the sight of her dad’s whiskers, Charlotte reportedly broke down, prompting William to shave it off.
Asked if his family liked his new beard, he replied: “Well Charlotte didn’t like it the first time. I got floods of tears the first time I grew a beard, so I had to shave it off. And then I grew it back. I thought, hang on a second and I convinced her it was going to be okay.”
He later reassured her he could regrow it, but the moment underscored her emotional impact on him.
According to Bond, Charlotte’s place in the family dynamic is special, with her spirited personality capturing her father’s heart.
“And this seems to be true for William. I’m sure he’s immensely proud of all three of his children, but there is perhaps a particular place in his heart for his sporty little Charlotte,” she noted, Geo News reported.
