William, 41, has been more in the spotlight than ever while his father King Charles, 75, receives cancer treatment.

Some have referred to him as a 'new king' when he represented Great Britain last week at an international commemorative service at Omaha Beach celebrating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

He stood with other royals and world leaders. The Prince and Princess of Wales's X account posted a picture of him on the train to Cardiff on Tuesday, June 11 adding to the adoring remarks made by royal followers.

In the picture, William is seen holding a red file on the table in front of him while traveling to Cardiff by train. The Future Generations Commissioner for Wales and The Earthshot Prize co-hosted an event honoring the Welsh seaweed sector, which he attended at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Meanwhile, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams also described the heir as a statesman.

He told Newsweek, "William has long been regarded as the perfect diplomat. It was he who was chosen as the first royal to pay an official visit to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories in 2018, which he carried out superbly."

He added, "Last year he made a surprise visit to British troops on the border with Ukraine. He also made a plea for a permanent peace in Gaza in February."

The Prince, he continued, is a "fine public speaker," and he gave a speech that was well received during last week's official Canadian commemoration of D-Day's 80th anniversary.
