Ralph Fiennes reveals he felt being 'little bit at sea' while filming with Jennifer Lopez in 2002 film
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ralph Fiennes revealed one challenging moment in his career when he felt uncertain about his role.
The British actor, 61, admitted that despite his confident appearance, he struggled to connect with his character in the 2002 romantic comedy 'Maid in Manhattan' opposite Jennifer Lopez.

Ralph Fiennes disclosed that his limited understanding of American politics at the time made him feel uneasy about portraying a conservative politician in the film.
Fiennes recalled that the lighthearted nature of the script contributed to his uncertainties during filming. "It was rom-com writing. It was light," Fiennes told People.
He admitted, "[But] I think I felt a little bit at sea sometimes. [I wondered] 'Now, who is this Republican senator? 'My antennae for things American — I think — got better since. But then I think I was kind sometimes a little bit lost."
In the movie, Fiennes played Senate hopeful Christopher Marshall, who fell for Lopez, playing, Marisa Ventura, a New York City maid pretending to be a hotel guest.

Reflecting on his relationship with Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes described their bond as being "brother-like."
The two actors worked together in Steven Spielberg's historical drama 'Schindler’s List'.
"He's a dear friend," said Fiennes, adding, "...he still had a wonderful, supportive sort of older brother quality."
Fiennes also took time to honor his late friend and co-star Natasha Richardson, Neeson's wife, who died in 2009 at 45 after a ski accident.
"I was friends with Natasha," Fiennes told the publication, adding, "And it was incredibly devastating to all of her friends and — of course — to her family that she died so tragically and so young."
"She was a wonderful, kind, open, generous host, wonderful actress, and I really valued her friendship," he said.

Recently, Ralph Fiennes gave his blessing to 'Oppenheimer' Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy to take over the role of the infamous 'Harry Potter' villain if it makes TV reboot.
“Cillian is a fantastic actor,” Fiennes said on 'Watch What Happens Live'.
“That’s a wonderful suggestion. I would be all in favor of Cillian. Yeah," he added as per Variety.
Before a few years back when HBO announced it was rebooting 'Harry Potter' as a television series, Fiennes told Variety that he would definitely be up for playing in it, “no question about it.”
