Real reason why Selena Gomez ‘avoided’ Hailey Bieber at Vanity Fair Oscars party: 'Just about self-care'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez reportedly did not want to be near Hailey Bieber at the Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday, March 2, night and the reason behind it was the media's obsession with their dynamics.
Hailey has been married to the singer's ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, whom Gomez dated on and off from 2011 through 2018, for six years and they are also parents to their six-month-old son Jack.

“There was no way Selena wanted an awkward photo and for everyone to write about it the next day,” a tipster spilled to the Daily Mail.
Selena Gomez did not want anyone to ruin her night

They said, “It was her night, she was a presenter at the Oscars for Emilia Perez, a film she is proud of, so she wanted the focus on that.”
However, the ‘Only Murders in the Building’ actress would have greeted the 28-year-old model if they ran into each other.
The source shared, “If they ran into each other, she would say hello of course, because Selena is a friendly person. She just wanted to avoid being photographed with her or near her because then 100 stories were born.”
“Selena took a picture with Hailey in the past and it didn't feel right,” the source added.

Hailey Bieber went for the party without husband Justin
The publication reported that Gomez arrived at the after party in Beverly Hills wearing a sexy black strapless gown with her hair down.
The Vogue supermodel also wore a gown very similar to the 32-year-old as she came alone for the party.

Hailey made the stylish presence one day after her singer husband celebrated his 31st birthday on March 1.
Selena Gomez ‘has nothing against’ Hailey Bieber
Besides, another insider told Life & Style that Gomez gave importance to self-care as she kept a distance from Hailey Sunday night.

They claimed, “Selena looked gorgeous and felt amazing at the Oscars and she wasn’t going to let anything ruin her special night. She’s gotten a lot better at avoiding drama and that means falling into any traps that could cause any negative buzz or unnecessary anxiety for her.”
Further explaining, the source noted that while the ‘Love On’ hitmaker “didn’t obsess about it, avoiding a potential Hailey Bieber viral moment was in the back of her head.”
“It’s not always possible, but she’s learned to avoid potentially awkward moments,” the insider continued, before explaining, “Selena has nothing against Hailey, that’s never really been her focus, and she’s certainly way over the long-standing trend of pitting women against each other.”
“So, not putting herself in a situation like that is just about self-care and not giving haters any ammunition,” they added.
