MIAMI, FLORIDA: Reggaeton star Nicky Jam deleted his endorsement for Donald Trump, signaling his shift in support after the former president mistakenly misgendered him.

The GOP presidential nominee referred to Jam as a "hot" woman while introducing him at a Las Vegas rally on September 13.

"Latin music superstar Nicky Jam, do you know Nicky? She's hot. Where's Nicky?" Trump said, according to a video from the event shared on X (formerly Twitter). Jam walked onto the stage from the audience. The MAGA leader welcomed him with a handshake and said, "I'm glad he came up," referring to the singer's right gender.

The 'Travesuras' singer initially downplayed the gaffe, describing himself as a "hot woman" in Spanish with around 22 crying-laughing emojis on his Instagram caption. However, according to the Daily Beast, his post disappeared on September 15. The comment section of the post before it was also deactivated.

Mexican rock band pulls collaboration after Nicky Jam's Trump endorsement

The 43-year-old singer was prey to backlash and mockery over his endorsement of Trump and the ex-president calling him a "hot" woman.

In the comment section of the now-deleted post, some users implied that the real estate mogul mistook Jam for rapper Nicki Minaj.

Nevertheless, besides the online outrage, Jam faced a career setback for supporting Trump.

On September 15, the Mexican rock band Mana removed their collaboration with the singer by removing his song 'De Pies a Cabeza' from streaming services.

The band rebuked him through an Instagram post that read, "Mana doesn’t work with racists."

Mana's caption in Spanish read, "For the past 30 years, Mana has supported and defended the rights of Latinos around the world. There is no business or promotion that is worth more than the dignity of our people. That is why today Mana decided to remove its collaboration with Nicky Jam on ‘Pies a Cabeza’ from all digital platforms," according to Deadline.

Though the disappearance of the endorsement post from Instagram suggests Jam does not support Trump anymore, he has not officially updated his current position regarding the real estate mogul.

Internet divided over Nicky Jam's seeming change in endorsement of Trump

Netizens had varying opinions regarding the disappearance of Jam's social media post, which implied a reversal in his support for Trump. While some mocked the singer, others noted his courage in changing his stance. Other users also attributed his apparent U-turn to Mana's rejection.

"You can’t delete your endorsement of maga. That stink will never wash off," a user said.

"At least Nicky got courage," another added.

"Ouch that must be embarrassing for Nicky Jam, just being used," wrote a third user.

"That’s not the reason, the reason was because he was scorned by Hispanic music icons (see Mana), but, the toothpaste was out of the tube already…" read a fourth response.

"Now THIS is pandering, bro didn't even know who the person was he was gassing up," another user wrote.

"'Oh look!' Says addled dementia patient seeing someone whom he has no clue about. What a sad little world Trump and his MAGAts have created," someone else chimed in.

"No he deleted it after Mana called him out," an individual remarked.

"Sorry dude. You have to own it now," read one remark.
