LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been the center of celebrity gossip headlines lately - not for red carpet appearances or vacation photos, but for their absence from them.

With no public sightings for nearly two months and a noticeable no-show at the 2025 Met Gala, fans began speculating that the pop star and NFL champion might be headed for a split, reported Nicki Swift.

Adding fuel to the rumors, Kelce recently attended Patrick Mahomes’ annual charity gala solo - an event Swift had joined him for the year before, and where the couple had shared plenty of affectionate moments.

Their absence as a pair at major events, combined with Kelce’s Vegas getaway with his brother Jason, has led many fans to sound the alarm. But according to relationship expert Susan Winter, the signs may point to something else entirely.

Winter, a seasoned relationship strategist and creator of the Love a La Carte Method, told Nicki Swift that these so-called red flags are not necessarily indicators of trouble. In fact, she suggested that they reflect a shift toward a more stable, mature phase in the couple’s dynamic.

“In Taylor and Kelce's case, this choice aligns with the natural progression of their relationship timeline,” Winter explained, adding, “The honeymoon phase of a relationship is often characterized by constant togetherness, both privately and publicly.”

The relationship expert added, “By the two-year mark, couples typically settle into a more grounded dynamic and begin to shift their focus back to individual goals.”

Swift and Kelce keeping a low profile lately doesn’t automatically mean trouble in paradise. In fact, relationship expert Winter suggested it might actually signal the opposite.

“Taking a step back from the limelight doesn't equate to stepping back from the relationship,” Winter said. “Sometimes it's just the opposite—a conscious pull inward to support the partnership bond.”

Winter also suggested that Swift and Kelce could be following “digital detox” - a savvy strategy shared by many celebrity couples.

“Not reading the gossip or speculation can be a real benefit,” she explained. “It's a mental cleansing that keeps each celebrity in the present moment, and the cocoon of their relationship.”
