KANSAS CITY, KANSAS: Pop icon Taylor Swift's boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce "is livid" after President Donald Trump said his girlfriend is "no longer hot", a source told the Daily Mail.

Trump on Friday, May 16, took to his Truth Social account and posted, "Has anyone noticed that, since I said 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,' she's no longer 'HOT?'"

Trump's comments about Swift struck a chord with Kelce, who didn’t take kindly to his diss of Swift after the Super Bowl in February, and his remarks on Friday reportedly had him fired up yet again.

An insider told the Daily Mail, "Travis is livid that the President of the United States is talking negatively about Taylor. He is so mad that he is going to use it as motivation during training for the season ahead, especially if Trump continues talking."

Moreover, the source also mentioned, "Since Travis can't say anything publicly because that would just open another can of worms, he has to figure out ways to get it out of his system because he would love to protect Taylor and stick up for her. But keeping quiet is the move he has to do right now."

Interestingly, Trump’s treatment towards Swift is in contrast to that of Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, whom he has publicly said on many occasions he’s a fan of.

Moreover, Brittany supported Trump during the 2024 election while Swift endorsed his opponent, Kamala Harris, and the POTUS has taken jabs at Swift ever since.

Following Trump's recent jab at Swift, American Federation of Musicians president Tino Gagliardi released a strongly worded statement in response, where he called out Trump for attacking Swift and Bruce Springsteen, per Athlon Sports.

Gagliardi said, "Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift are not just brilliant musicians, they are role models and inspirations to millions of people in the United States and across the world."

"Whether it’s Born in the USA or the Eras Tour, their music is timeless, impactful, and has deep cultural meaning. Musicians have the right to freedom of expression, and we stand in solidarity with all our members," he added.

Donald Trump's jabs at Taylor Swift over the years

Trump has always been explicit about his dislike for Taylor Swift's political stance. Over the years, Trump, who earlier had a soft spot for the pop icon, took a u-turn in his stance toward Swift.

In June 2024, Trump told Ramin Setoodeh, co-editor of Variety, "I think she's beautiful-very beautiful!" as he complimented her looks. He added, "I find her very beautiful. I think she's liberal. She probably doesn't like Trump. I hear she's very talented."

Meanwhile, months earlier in February 2024, Trump took a swipe at the singer before the Super Bowl, where many speculated that Swift would announce her endorsement of Joe Biden's re-election bid to a massive audience.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, "Joe Biden didn't do anything for Taylor and never will. There's no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt President in the History of our Country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money."

Most recently, in February 2025, Trump trolled Swift after she was booed while the POTUS was cheered at the New Orleans Superdome during the Super Bowl, in a ruthless post.

He shared videos of the loud applause he got compared to the boos the pop icon received when she was shown on the big screen, according to Daily Mail.

Trump went on to share another user's post with the caption, "Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed."
