MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: Tim Macklin Sr, the former father-in-law of Renee Nicole Good, spoke publicly about her death and the impact it has had on his family. He described Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE agent during an enforcement operation on January 7, as a gentle and “good person.”
In an interview, Macklin reflected on the state of mind of his former daughter-in-law during the fatal encounter. “Biblically, she wasn’t ready to meet the Lord,” he said, adding that her passing so suddenly was deeply painful for him.
He also addressed the incident itself. After watching footage of the operation, Macklin said he believes her SUV did hit the ICE agent before the shooting occurred, though he emphasized that he does not blame anyone for the tragedy.

Macklin previously spoke with CNN, stating, “I don’t blame ICE. I don’t blame Rebecca. I don’t blame Renee. I just wish…if we’re walking in the Spirit of God, I don’t think she would have been there.” He called the shooting a “hard situation all around” and noted that “some bad choices” were made, without pointing fingers.
