NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Rep John James (R-Mich) joined co-host Rachel Campos on 'Fox & Friends' to discuss GOP nominee Donald Trump and his vice presidential candidate JD Vance hosting their first campaign rally in his home state, on Saturday, July 20.

The congressman also took the opportunity to slam MSNBC host Alex Wagner for her snide remarks on the celebrity speakers at the Republican National Conference, which took place from July 15 to July 18 in Milwaukee.

During a panel discussion on MSNBC on July 18, Wagner said, "The fact that the people leading into the former president's acceptance speech tonight are golf pros and UFC fighters tells you a lot about the next (possible) administration... On a practical level, how do you get anything done if it is a bunch of UFC fighters and golf pros in, I don't know, the DoJ?"

John James' response to Alex Wagner's remarks

"She's not a serious person," John James told Rachel Campos about Alex Wagner on the Saturday segment of 'Fox & Friends'.

"These are the type of people who scoff at us, who laugh at us, who look down their noses at us. These are the Marie Antoinettes who think they know how to spend our money better than we do."

"These are the coastal elites who think that these flyover states have people in them who don't know what's going on, how to protect themselves, or what our priorities are," he continued.

"Right now, we have a wide open border with fentanyl pouring in, with illegals pouring in. We have an administration pushing the EV agenda that removed choice from Americans and empowers China's middle class, builds China's military."

"We have an administration that has completely lost focus, and the folks at MSNBC are continuing to turn a blind eye while the rest of America is hurting. These are voices of the regular, average, everyday people," expressed James, claiming that it is echoed by former president Trump and his running mate Vance.

Campos went on to list some of the celebrity speakers at the RNC, which included Dana White, Kid Rock, and Hulk Hogan.

John James on Donald Trump's security in Michigan rally

In light of the recent assassination attempt on the former president, the congressman shared that there would be a "bunch of folks exercising their constitutional carrying rights out and about in the city."

"Being at the RNC, I felt a higher sense of security," he shared, "I think people are upping their games not just with their security, but... we also have a personal responsibility to 'if you see something, say something,' and remain vigilant, for our own safety."
