WASHINGTON, DC: Robert F Kennedy Jr was heavily trolled after appearing noticeably tanned at a Senate hearing on Thursday, September 4.

The HHS secretary was called before the Senate Finance Committee, where Senators grilled him over several issues, including his views on vaccines, autism, Medicaid, and the state of the Centers for Disease Control.

RFK Jr grilled by Senators on vaccines and CDC leadership

During the hearing, Senators pressed him on his dismissal of key CDC vaccine advisors, his firing of CDC Director Susan Monarez just a month into her tenure, and his decision to reduce eligibility for the most up-to-date Covid vaccines.

Democratic Senators also challenged RFK Jr eight months into his role as health secretary. Senator Ron Wyden even pointed to his past association with Jeffrey Epstein, saying, “Mr Kennedy calls himself a protector of children, some kind of rich claim, coming from someone who has flown on Jeffrey Epstein's private jet on multiple occasions."

Republicans expressed their frustration as well, including Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, who had cast the decisive vote in RFK Jr's confirmation earlier this year.

Cassidy asked, “Do you agree with me that President Trump deserves a Nobel Prize for Operation Warp Speed?” to which RFK Jr replied, “Absolutely, senator.” Cassidy quickly followed up by pointing out contradictions in Kennedy’s past remarks on Covid-19 vaccines, prompting a defensive response from Kennedy.
