'RHOC' star Alexis Bellino reveals ex Andrew Bohn's reaction to her new relationship with John Janssen

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Real Housewives of Orange County' star Alexis Bellino discussed her ex-fiance Andrew 'Drew' Bohn's reaction to the news of her relationship with John Janssen. During a recent podcast, Bellino revealed she wanted to inform Bohn about her new relationship. 

Last year, Bellino also shared that the death of her mother, Penelope, in August 2023, played a significant role in her breakup with Bohn.

To provide some context, Bellino's relationship gained widespread attention in December 2023 when it was confirmed that she and Janssen were dating after meeting at a bar in Orange County.

Notably, Janssen ended his relationship with 'RHOC' star Shannon Storms Beador, who was sued for defamation by Bellino's ex-husband Jim in 2018, as per People.

Alexis Bellino recounts her text exchange with ex-fiance Andrew Bohn 

In the July 30 episode of former Bravo producer Carlos King’s podcast 'Reality with The King', Alexis Bellino revealed that she wanted to personally inform her ex-fiance about her new relationship with John Janssen. 

She recounted, “I texted him and I said, ‘I really need to talk to you'. He goes ‘If it’s about your new guy or a new guy, I don’t want to talk about it,’”  

Bellino explained, “And then I said, ‘You need to hear it from me and not from' –Because we were going to give People the exclusive the next day. And I didn’t want People magazine to be how Drew heard that I was going to become more with John.”

Bellino also mentioned that her new relationship might have upset Bohn, noting that he “wasn’t happy” about it. Despite this, she emphasized, “He’s a great guy. I wish him nothing but the best. And it just didn’t work out for us.”

Why did Alexis Bellino decide to call off her relationship with Andrew Bohn?

In November 2023, Alexis Bellino explained that her breakup with ex-fiance Andrew Bohn was influenced by the death of her mother, Penelope. She remarked, “The death of a close person like your mom either strengthens or breaks a couple. Unfortunately for us, it broke us.”

In the early stages of her grief, the former Bravo celebrity recognized that she and Bohn were incompatible, as per Page Six. 

“I felt it was better if we just take different paths for now and he agreed,” she explained. “I just know it was the best decision for us.” 

In September, Bellino claimed that she and Bohn decided to end their relationship nearly three years after their engagement. “Drew and I have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple,” she stated. “Despite this, our love for each other remains strong, and we both sincerely wish nothing but the best for one another.”

Regarding her ideal partner, Bellino says, “I don’t want anyone controlling, but I don’t want anyone too passive.” 

She emphasizes that she is looking for someone spiritual. “They don’t have to be super successful, but I just need someone driven and motivated.” 

Additionally, a good sense of humor is crucial. “Good, well-rounded humor is important to me. You have to be funny. If we don’t laugh together, there’s a problem,” she adds. “I want to be laughing all day long. That’s kind of what I’m looking for.”

John Janssen discusses challenges with 'RHOC' stars

In the 'Reality With The King' episode, John Janssen discussed the challenges he faced in his relationship with his ex Shannon Beador and expressed frustration over how some 'RHOC' stars, particularly Emily Simpson, disliked him based on Beador's comments. 

“They’re just believing drunk Shannon's comments. I mean, people think the cast knows me,” Janssen said on the podcast. “They don’t know me. I’ve never even had a conversation with Emily Simpson, for example, and she definitely doesn’t like me. But she doesn’t know me.”

On the August 8 episode of 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen', Emily Simpson revealed that she and Shannon Beador had discussed Janssen, as per Heavy.com.

“She would share a lot of things with me off-camera. And they weren’t good. And I felt really badly for her and I felt like she was dealing with a lot,” Simpson said. 

Shannon Beador says she wants nothing to do with Alexis Bellino and John Janssen’s relationship

In a July interview, Shannon Beador made it clear that she wants nothing to do with Alexis Bellino or John Janssen, as per US Weekly.

She explained, “There were other reasons, John, aside, that I don’t want to pursue a friendship with [Alexis]. There’s the clip of her going, ‘You’re not going to win my man’ or something. It’s like, I’m not in the competition. Enjoy!” 

Beador also recalled Janssen’s previous remarks, saying, “I don’t know what’s in John’s head because the last conversation I had with him, he said, ‘I am breaking ties with you because you’ve ruined my life and my family’s by being so public', and six weeks later, he is doing Oscar parties and red carpet interviews. OK, Mr Private.” 

Beador noted that their phone conversation was the last time she spoke to Janssen. While Beador was initially hurt by the romance between Bellino and Janssen, she now feels relieved that the chapter is over. She reflected, “John broke up with me after three and a half years. It was quite public, and for six months he dated someone. I dated someone, but we did reconnect and neither of us admitted it.”

She concluded, "I think we both knew deep down it was never going to work, but we did care about each other. And so for another six months, we were back together acting like we were boyfriend and girlfriend …I am glad that we’re not together anymore and maybe something like this had to happen in order for me to break ties."
