LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears, who had been embroiled in a highly publicized legal battle with her estranged father Jamie Spears over her conservatorship, has finally reached a settlement over their remaining legal disputes, bringing an end to their lengthy court feud, reported Radar Online.

However, her attorney is being slammed after it was reported that she has to pay her dad while getting nothing in return.

After months of contentious legal proceedings, Britney Spears, 42, and her father Jamie Spears recently settled the dispute over legal fees pertaining to the conservatorship battle after the first filing in December 2021.

This development marks the conclusion of a protracted legal battle that has spanned over 13 years, during which Britney accused her father of mishandling her estate.

Despite settling her legal dispute with her 71-year-old father, TMZ reported that Jamie will not be paying any legal fees, leaving his daughter to foot the bill. This resolution has allegedly left the 'Toxic' hitmaker furious.

TMZ insiders suggest that Britney is furious about the discreet settlement, citing sources who claim her lawyer assured her of a solid case. However, the outcome requires her to cover her father Jamie's legal fees, estimated at over $2 million. Additionally, TMZ reports Britney has paid her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, over $4 million, leaving her in a deeper financial struggle post-settlement.

Both parties' attorneys confirmed that they settled for an undisclosed sum in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, April 25, People reported.

Britney's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart said, "Although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete. As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter."

He added, "Britney Spears won when the court suspended her father, and Britney Spears won when her fundamental rights and civil liberties were restored. Since obtaining her freedom in late 2021, Britney Spears has achieved remarkable success on several fronts, including her August, 2022 collaboration with Sir Elton John on the smash hit Hold Me Closer (which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and became her 24th top-ten single), followed by her landmark book deal with Simon & Schuster for her memoir The Woman in Me, an immediate NY Times #1 bestseller, which received universal, breathtaking praise and would not have been possible during the conservatorship."

Rosengart concluded, "We repeat our gratification for being in a position to help restore the civil rights and liberties of Britney Spears and the honor and privilege it has been to serve and protect Ms. Spears and obtain her goals in resolving various legal matters pursuant to her thoughtful and wise instruction and requests, which once again are to her credit."

Britney's attorney had claimed that Jamie was "not entitled to and never would receive another dollar of his daughter's money."

Rosengart further stated that "Mr Spears’s abuse of the system, waste, and vindictive attempts to harass his daughter" was both "contrary to law" and contrary to "fundamental decency."

Earlier statements from Britney's legal team accused him of abusing the conservatorship system and attempting to harass his daughter. Despite his role in overseeing Britney's affairs for over a decade, Jamie has faced criticism and legal challenges regarding his management of her estate.

In addition to the legal battle, Jamie Spears has faced personal health challenges, including a recent amputation following complications from knee replacement surgery. His health struggles have added another layer of complexity to the family's public saga.
