BRENTWOOD, LOS ANGELES: Funeral plans for Rob and Michele Reiner have been revealed following their death, with reports stating that Barack and Michelle Obama are expected to attend a "deeply private" and "strictly guarded" ceremony.

The family is prioritizing intimacy and safety for the first service, which is being limited to the couple's inner circle to avoid a public show during a time of grief.

Reiners to have a 'small but extraordinary' guest list

The guest list for the private service is described as "small but extraordinary," featuring lifelong friends and major political figures.

Most notably, Michelle Obama and Barack Obama are expected to attend, alongside other prominent Hollywood insiders who shared personal ties with the couple.

This intimate gathering is intended to be the first of many honors, as a source noted there will also be a "public memorial," and this is "not the end" of memorializing the couple.

"Every major award show is planning tributes. The industry wants — and needs — to honor them," the insider added.

Tight security expected for private service in Los Angeles

According to Hollywood insider Rob Shuter, the upcoming ceremony for Rob and Michele Reiner will be "deeply private" and "carefully guarded."

While the family acknowledges that a vast number of admirers want to pay their respects, one source revealed that the "first goodbye is strictly about family and the people who were in their lives every single day."

The ceremony is expected to take place within the coming days, though the specifics of the event will only be shared via the exclusive invite list.

It is believed that security will be very tight to allow the family to mourn without interruptions.

Insiders have also suggested that the decision to maintain a small service is not an attempt to keep the public out but a need to ensure the well-being of their family.

"The family is in shock," a source said. "They cannot handle a public spectacle right now. This is about dignity, safety, and grief."

Despite the worldwide outreach of their work, the family is prioritizing a quiet atmosphere, noting that "Rob and Michele lived very public lives, but their final farewell will be intentionally shielded from the public eye."

He added, “But beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people—and a lifelong commitment to putting that belief into action. Together, he and his wife lived lives defined by purpose. They will be remembered for the values they championed and the countless people they inspired. We send our deepest condolences to all who loved them."
