BRENTWOOD, LOS ANGELES: Three days after their deaths, it was learned that director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were victims of homicide involving multiple sharp-force injuries, according to findings from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Nick Reiner appears in court after arrest
Earlier, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office stated that the couple was fatally stabbed in the early hours of Sunday, December 14. Following the discovery of the scene, authorities arrested Nick Reiner near the University of Southern California.
During a brief court appearance on Wednesday, Nick appeared in shackles and an anti-suicide smock. While his attorney, Alan Jackson, opted not to enter a plea, the proceedings focused on procedural rights.
When the judge questioned Nick about his willingness to waive his right to a speedy arraignment, he responded, "Yes, your honor.”
