LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Robert De Niro has recently revealed that he’s not into changing diaper duty after welcoming a daughter named Gia with girlfriend Tiffany Chen in April 2023.

In a recent interview with Sunday Times, the 81-year-old actor revealed that he does not change the 20-month-old baby’s diaper but “I used to,” OK! Magazine reported.

The ‘Intern’ star continued, “I’m an early riser. I spend my mornings watching Ms Rachel with her, and I give her her bottle,” seemingly referring to YouTuber Rachel Anne Accurso’s videos for children.

Robert De Niro revealed his girlfriend Tiffany Chen does 'heavy lifitng'

This came after Robert De Niro previously shared that it was his girlfriend Tiffany Chen who takes most responsibility for their child.

“It’s OK. I mean, I don’t do the heavy lifting. I’m there, I support my girlfriend. But she does the work. And we have help, which is so important,” he had reportedly noted, as per The Guardian.

At the time, he also stated, “With a baby it’s different to with my 11-year-old. My adult children. My grandchildren. It’s all different..Well, I don’t talk to the adult children the way I talk to my baby.”

During an episode of Max's series ‘Who's Talking to Chris Wallace?’ in September 2024, ‘The Irishman’ actor reflected on his role as a father to his children.

He had 57-year-old Drena, and Raphael, 48, with his former wife Diahnne Abbott, and twin sons Julian and Aaron, 29, with actress Toukie Smith.

The film producer also welcomed son Elliot, 26, and daughter Helen Grace, 12, with his ex-wife Grace Hightower.

At the time, he said, “I'm trying my best. I'm going to put on my gravestone, 'I tried my best.’”

De Niro also mentioned that on his tombstone, he would put “please forgive me for everything that I've done.”

But when asked by Wallace whether he’s “not a good father,” the ‘Goodfellas’ actor replied, “No! I tried my best. That's all I can say. I was busy, of course, but I always loved my kids.”

After welcoming his youngest child, Robert De Niro once told AARP The Magazine, “It feels great. Everything that I’m consumed with or worried about just goes away when I look at her.”

“It’s wondrous. When she gets older — who knows? But that very sweet way she has of looking at you, taking you in, thinking and watching and observing …” he added.
