LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rosie O'Donnell hinted at moving to the UK by sharing two posts on her Instagram account on Friday, March 7, which she recently made private. This move comes months after Donald Trump returned to the Oval Office.

O'Donnell has been a Trump critic and over the years, she has been quite vocal in taking jibes at the president. In 2024, she launched a scathing criticism when Times Magazine named Trump 'Man of the Year'.

The caption of the post read, "Bought a little used car to tool around the countryside on the wrong side of the road. Hit the curb three times - thought I hit a cat !!! #newadventures."

Moreover, she also shared a photo of her daughter in the backseat of the car with her backpack beside her and captioned that they were on the way to school and that she "can't wait to walk to school" with her youngest child, per the outlet.

However, O'Donnell's posts did not mention where she and her daughter were, but since she mentioned driving on the "wrong side of the road", the UK or Ireland seem like likely destinations, People reported.

Notably, O'Donnell will not be the first celebrity to relocate in recent months if her hints are right. In November 2024, Richard Gere sold his Connecticut home for $11 million and relocated to Madrid, Spain to be closer to his wife's in-laws, according to the outlet.

He informed Vanity Fair Spain at the time that his wife Alejandra Silva had been "very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers".

Around the same time, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi moved to the English countryside after finding a home that they "loved".

In a December tribute to her wife on their 20th anniversary, DeGeneres wrote that she was "so happy we get to travel and explore the world together" as she shared a selfie of them in the countryside.

Insider claims Rosie O’Donnell is gearing up for new comedy special

In February 2025, an insider claimed that Rosie O'Donnell has "fully written and test-performed" a new comedy special script to take on her rival, Ellen DeGeneres.

The source told InTouch Weekly, "Rosie has fully written and test-performed a new hour-long stand-up set, and she’s going to put it to film in the coming months."

They then referenced DeGeneres' latest venture, Netflix special 'For Your Approval', and said, "I guess the headline is that it’s a lot like Ellen’s special, except it’s funny!"

The insider further explained, "Rosie still has a swagger and still has real comedy chops, and thankfully, in her new material she doesn’t come across as bitter or defensive. She’s just trying to make people laugh and she’s doing it by being herself."

The source added that O’Donnell’s "voice is needed in stand-up, and unlike Ellen, she’s going to get a warm welcome from fans".
