Rosie O'Donnell hits back after Trump threatens to revoke her US citizenship: 'I'm everything you fear'

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump reignited his public feud with comedian Rosie O’Donnell this week by saying on Truth Social that he is “giving serious consideration” to revoking her US citizenship, claiming she is a “threat to humanity” and should stay in Ireland.
Trump’s post followed O’Donnell’s criticism of his response to the Texas floods and heightened tensions between the two public figures.

Rosie O'Donnell slams Donald Trump with explosive posts after Truth Social outburst
Rosie O’Donnell swiftly responded via Instagram and TikTok, dismissing Donald Trump’s threat as unconstitutional, labeling him a “dangerous old soulless man with dementia,” and reaffirming her status as a proud American, even as she pursues Irish citizenship.
She wrote, “Hey Donald – you’re rattled again? 18 years later and I still live rent-free in that collapsing brain of yours. You call me a threat to humanity, but I’m everything you fear: a loud woman, a queer woman, a mother who tells the truth, an American who got out of the country before u set it ablaze. You build walls. I build a life for my autistic kid in a country where decency still exists.”

O’Donnell went on, “You crave loyalty, I teach my children to question power. You sell fear on golf courses, I make art about surviving trauma. You lie, you steal, you degrade, I nurture, I create, I persist. You are everything that is wrong with America, and I’m everything you hate about what’s still right with it.”
“You want to revoke my citizenship? go ahead and try, King Joffrey with a tangerine spray tan, I’m not yours to silence, I never was,” she added.
O’Donnell didn’t hold back in her response to Trump’s latest threat. In a pointed social media post, she wrote that the president targets her because she “stands in direct opposition to everything he represents.”
“The President of the USA has always hated the fact that I see him for who he is,” she continued.
Legal experts call Donald Trump’s citizenship threat legally baseless
Donald Trump's threat, made via a Truth Social post, has drawn swift condemnation from legal experts and sparked a fierce response from Rosie O’Donnell.

“Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” Trump wrote. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. God bless America!”
But immigration experts immediately debunked the idea. “US-born citizens cannot have their citizenship taken away,” Julia Gelatt, associate director at the Migration Policy Institute, told The New York Times. “US citizens can relinquish their citizenship voluntarily, and federal courts can strip naturalized citizens of their citizenship if there is proven fraud or misrepresentation or other major cases.”
