LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rosie O’Donnell’s troubled daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell, claimed her comedian mother "turned her back on her" following her arrest on drug possession charges last month.
In a jailhouse interview given to Daily Mail, the 27-year-old slammed her mother for advocating for the release of the Menendez brothers, all the while leaving her to suffer behind bars.
Chelsea said, "My mother is more interested in getting the Menendez brothers released from prison than getting me out." She is currently housed in a Wisconsin jail.
Chelsea O'Donnell claims Rosie O'Donnell flat-out denied bailing her out of jail
However, the publication reports that the 62-year-old believes her daughter, Chelsea O'Donnell, who she adopted with her ex-wife, Kelli Carpenter, is safer and better off in jail.
The police report following Chelsea's September 9 arrest appeared to have given weightage to Rosie's views as the deputy painted the picture of a filthy and unsafe house.
Chelsea and her boyfriend Jacob Nelund's horrible living conditions were described in a report prepared by Sheriff's Deputy Logan Graetz.
Graetz wrote, "The inside of the house was disgusting. Throughout the house, I saw rotten food, dirty moldy dishes, milk that stunk so bad it almost made me puke, dirty diapers, used female hygiene products, unclean underwear with feces and blood stains, and used razor blades on the floor."
"The living conditions in the house were horrible. I then went into the child's room that was off of the kitchen. On a nightstand, I observed a blue box; and in that box, I observed several hypodermic needles. Some of the needles were used and had dried blood in them," added Graetz.
Chelsea has four children, daughters Skylar Rose, five, Riley, three, and Avery Lynn, two, from a previous relationship, and son Atlas, one, with Nelund, who is also currently in police custody.
Graetz mentioned in his report that the deputies found a bong and a pipe containing methamphetamine in a lower kitchen cabinet "that a small child could have easily grabbed."
During the interview, Chelsea acknowledged her issues, saying, "I have a drug problem."
Elaborating on her issue with her mother's support of the Menendez brothers, Chelsea said, "I need to go to rehab, but I never killed anyone like the Menendez brothers." She added emphatically, "My mother has turned her back on me."
While Chelsea was released from jail after posting a $2,000 bond following the September arrest, she was again taken into custody on October 11 for possessing methamphetamine, and narcotic drugs, felony bail jumping, and obstruction.
She is facing charges in two Wisconsin counties and is being held at the Oconto County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
Chelsea claimed that when she asked he mother to bail her out, she denied her request.
"When I called Rosie to ask her to bail me out, she told me flat out, 'You belong in there,'" said Chelsea, adding, "She said, 'I really can't help you get out of there; I don't want you to kill yourself. I don't want to be responsible for you killing yourself.'"
Chelsea refuted her mother's claims that she could kill herself if she's released from jail, saying she intends to see her children.
Acknowledging that she "may end up in prison," Chelsea noted, "I want to spend time with them if I'm going to prison. I'm trying to get bailed out of here."
She also called out Rosie's "selective judgment," saying, "My mother thinks she's this great person helping out the world including the Menendez brothers yet she is letting me sit here in jail."
Rosie is among the celebrities calling for the release of the Menendez brothers owing to new evidence in their case.
Chelsea O'Donnell calls Rosie O'Donnell an 'awful grandmother'
Chelsea O'Donnell went on to claim that he mother, Rosie O'Donnell, had not seen her grandchildren in almost two and a half years, and refused to visit her stating, "It's depressing to come out to Wisconsin."
The 27-year-old further slammed her mother for sharing pictures of her grandchildren on social media to look like a doting grandmother.
"She's an awful grandmother, she wants nothing to do with my kids," remarked Chelsea, before adding, "She has all of the money in the world, but rarely helps out with buying diapers, and other necessities."
Chelsea also claimed that Rosie didn't want her to have any of her children. "Rosie wanted me to pay $3,000 to get a late-term abortion on my two youngest girls, Riley and Avery," stated Chelsea.
She added, "I didn't tell Rosie I was pregnant until well after 20 weeks. Then when I didn't abort my baby girls, she wanted me to put them up for adoption, which I refused."
Chelsea continued, "For my son, Atlas, she said found some gay couple in New York to adopt him. I didn't even consider it," and said sarcastically, "What a great grandmother, she wanted me to abort my girls!"
Chelsea shared that she would potentially face months behind bars when her cases roll out in the court. The mother of four expressed, "I haven't even spoken with a public defender. I want to get out of jail and go to rehab and try to see my children."
She even blamed her mother for her current scenario, saying, "I was fine until Rosie kicked me out of her home when I was 18 years old. I've been using on and off since then. I can quit using, but my family makes me hate myself."
The 27-year-old further claimed she was disinvited from her brother Blake's wedding in August. "I was sober at the time and Rosie told me: 'You can't go, nobody wants you there.' I'm human, what's the point of being sober? I can't even be a part of this family," revealed Chelsea.
She is next due in court on Thursday, November 7. Each felony she is charged with could result in three and a half years in prison upon conviction, as per Daily Mail.
