WASHINGTON, DC: Questions about possible divisions inside President Donald Trump's national security team were met with an emphatic response on Thursday, June 25, when Secretary of State Marco Rubio firmly rejected suggestions that he and Vice President JD Vance are at odds over Middle East policy.

The issue surfaced as reporters pressed Rubio about speculation that differing public comments from administration officials on the Israel-Lebanon conflict could point to growing internal disagreements.

Instead of entertaining the premise, Rubio delivered a forceful defense of the administration's unity, insisting that Trump’s team remains fully aligned behind the president’s decisions.

Marco Rubio sets the record straight

Rubio left little room for ambiguity when asked whether tensions existed between senior members of the administration.

“We have no drama, we have no games,” Rubio said, dismissing suggestions of an internal split.

The secretary stressed that foreign policy is ultimately determined by President Trump and that members of the administration are responsible for carrying out those decisions rather than pursuing competing agendas.

“Everyone here is aligned behind the president of the United States, every single one of us,” Rubio said.

He explained that senior officials routinely offer advice, recommendations and differing perspectives during internal discussions, but emphasized that the decision-making process ends with the president.

According to Rubio, once Trump makes a call, the administration moves forward together.

“The president of the United States makes the foreign policy of our country,” Rubio said, adding that administration officials work closely together to implement those decisions.

Marco Rubio says officials united behind Trump agenda

Rubio’s comments came after a recent debate over whether differing public remarks from senior officials reflected deeper disagreements inside the administration.

The discussion intensified as fighting involving Israel and Lebanon continued to dominate foreign policy conversations in Washington.

Some observers pointed to comments from Vice President JD Vance emphasizing restraint and the importance of maintaining strong alliances, while Rubio has repeatedly defended Israel’s security concerns during his diplomatic engagements abroad.

Those differences in tone sparked speculation that competing viewpoints may be developing within the administration.

Rubio, however, rejected that interpretation outright. He argued that observers were confusing normal policy discussions with internal conflict.

According to the secretary, administration officials have distinct responsibilities but share the same objective: carrying out the president’s agenda.

“Every single one of us works in lockstep very closely with one another to execute on the president’s foreign policy,” Rubio said.

He added that everything the administration does stems from decisions already made by Trump, not from competing power centers within the White House.
