WASHINGTON, DC: In a significant legal development, a federal judge has approved the expedited request of Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, former Georgia election workers, to receive their $148 million payment from former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, citing the plaintiffs' valid concerns that Giuliani may attempt to evade payment reported ABC News.

Siding with Freeman and Moss' request to "permit immediate enforcement" of the payment since Giuliani could "find a way to dissipate [his] assets before plaintiffs are able to recover," Judge Beryl Howell on Wednesday, December 20, granted their request.

According to the Judge, the ex-Trump attorney's former reputation as an "unwilling and uncooperative litigant" reflects the plaintiff's concern that he might "find a way to dissipate [his] assets before plaintiffs are able to recover."

Following a week-long defamation trial, the Washington, DC, federal court jury, overseen by Judge Beryl Howell, ordered Giuliani to pay the Georgia election workers.

The awarded amount included over $16 million in defamation damages, $75 million in punitive penalties, and $20 million for each for the emotional distress the former New York mayor caused the mother and daughter over false allegations of them conducting voter fraud in the 2020 elections.

Judge raises concerns over Rudy Giuliani's attempt to hide financial assets

Ruling in favor of the plaintiffs' request to expedite the payments, Judge Howell also raised concerns against Giuliani regarding other civil cases filed against him by former attorney Robert Costello and President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden.

According to ABC News, the Judge added that the cases "raise the risk that Giuliani has even greater motivation to hide his financial assets from potential future judgments against him."

The Judge whom Giuliani accused of being partial against him in the defamation trial also stated in writing that if the former Trump attorney had intentions to appeal the judgment in the defamation trial, he "would have to comply with the usual requirement of a full supersedeas bond."

In another development, Freeman and Moss also filed a second lawsuit demanding the court to permanently stop Giuliani from spreading false and defamatory accusations of their involvement in the 2020 election.

Giuliani, who plans to appeal against the federal court judgment, has not refrained from making disparaging remarks against the plaintiffs even amid the trial.

His lawyer, Joe Sibley, who reportedly estranged his relationship with the former New York City Mayor by the end of the trial, even claimed that his client would face the "civil equivalent of the death penalty" if the Judge ruled in favor of the amount demanded by the two election workers.

Internet says the DC court judgment might get 'overturned'

Netizens are worried that the plaintiffs might not get the $148 million from Giuliani. Social media reactions suggest that if he appeals to a higher court, the ruling will be overturned in his favor.

One user stated, "It will be overturned on appeal."

Another user remarked, "They will never see a penny."

"He already declared bankruptcy!!" read a third reaction.

A fourth user said, "They’ll never get that money."

One comment below a post by the New York on Facebook read, "Rudy probably thinks that he doesn't have to pay since he's going to appeal. Make him pay up now, before he liquidated and conceals his assets."
