WASHINGTON, DC: In the aftermath of his defamation trial defeat at the Washington, DC federal court, former Donald Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani publicly blamed the presiding judge for his loss.

Judge Beryl Howell oversaw the petition filed by two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea "Shaye" Moss, whom Giuliani falsely accused of election fraud after the 2020 presidential election.

Giuliani said Judge Howell has "no understanding of what it means to be fair and impartial, which means the job that she has is a terrible job to have and will result in tremendous injustice for an enormous number of people," as seen in a video posted by Ron Filipkowski, the Editor-in-Chief of MeidasTouch.

He added, "I only find myself lucky that I am not sitting in jail tonight because of her injustice."

On Friday, December 15, the jury ordered the former mayor of New York City to pay a staggering $148 million to compensate the plaintiffs for reputational and emotional damage he caused by making baseless accusations of them helping rig votes for President Joe Biden.

Who is Judge Beryl Howell?

Howell, a judge for the District of Columbia, earned her JD from Columbia Law School.

As a chief judge, she supervised the two most important federal grand juries against former President Trump. Howell was the supervising judge for the grand jury working for special counsel that investigated the Russian interference in the 2016 presidential elections that aimed at sabotaging Hillary Clinton's campaign.

Besides, she has also overseen various January 6 Capitol insurrection cases, taking decisions against the defendants.

According to a CNN report, she has also rebuked Giuliani for making "defamatory" comments against the two Georgia election workers after the trial on December 11.

Rudy Giuliani alleges Judge Beryl Howell hoped to see him in jail

Guiliani, who reportedly is not on speaking terms with his legal counsel Joseph Sibley by the end of the much-anticipated trial, has accused Judge Howell of partiality in the ruling. According to him, the case outcome is "tragic" and "terrible."

He claimed, "Judges should be fair and impartial, and this judge from her speeches from her conduct in the J-6 [January 6] cases from her temper tantrum when the J-6 people were not going to jail long enough, indicated that she has and I guess we summarize it as Trump Derangement Syndrome."

"She was hoping to do that. I have no doubt. She actually, at the very, very end said, 'You wouldn't want to be with me much longer me. It was getting over because you don't like me'," added Giuliani.

The former Trump attorney further claimed that he respected her as a judge and stood up whenever she entered the courtroom, but he did not agree with the decisions she delivered.

"I address her as your honor, but as looking at her career. I do not respect her. I don't respect her because she doesn't. She does not impart justice," noted Giuliani.

Netizens react to Rudy Giuliani attributing his defeat to Judge Beryl Howell

One said, "There was literally a jury," while another noted, "Does he remember he had a jury trial?"

A person asked, "Shouldn’t his attorney tell him to shut-up?"

"1. It was a jury genius. 2. Good luck with your appeals if you keep these videos going," remarked someone else, with a netizen quipping, "More lawsuits, yay."
