MIAMI, FLORIDA: Russell Brand, the once-beloved comedian turned controversial figure, has sparked yet another wave of outrage with his latest social media post, where he claims to have "found God" during Hurricane Milton.

The bizarre video, posted on X, shows the 49-year-old wandering the streets of Miami, even though the city was not in the direct path of the storm.

Brand’s video, filled with religious rhetoric and a rambling attempt to link the storm to his newfound Christian faith, has left viewers furious online, as per Daily Mail.

Russell Brand claims to have found God during Hurricane Milton in bizarre video

In the video, Brand referenced the Bible and interpreted the hurricane as a metaphor for the struggles people face in life.

His comments have raised eyebrows, especially given his controversial past and the accusations of assault that surfaced last year.

Brand’s video begins with him walking down a darkened Miami street, talking about the hurricane and drawing a connection to his spiritual journey.

Though Miami wasn't in the direct path of the Category 3 storm, Brand decided to use the occasion to reflect on faith.

He opened his video by saying: "In the middle of this crazy storm in Florida—and I pray for those of you who are more directly affected—[it is] worth thinking how the metaphor of the storm affects us all."

He continues by reflecting on biblical teachings, specifically recounting a moment from the Gospel of Matthew. Brand says, “I was taught from Matthew that when the Apostles were dealing with a storm, Peter first asks when he sees our Lord on the water, ‘Is that you?’ and you don’t get out of the boat until you know it’s Jesus, until you know it’s the Lord who’s saying ‘yes, come.’”

In his attempt to draw a parallel between the storm and his faith, Brand encouraged people to keep their “eyes fixed on the Lord” during difficult times.

He further added, "Unlike Peter, when you're out of the boat, you've got to keep your eyes fixed on the Lord because if you take your eyes off Jesus, the storm could devour you."

The comedian's message didn’t stop there. He went on to describe the hurricane as a “demonstration of the almighty power that is beyond our control,” framing it as proof of God’s influence in the world.

"The storm, I suppose, is a demonstration of the almighty power that is beyond our control," Brand stated. "As a metaphor, it helps me to understand that I must listen and watch for Christ."

Since December 2023, the comedian has shared multiple posts reflecting on his relationship with Christianity.

This transformation came in the wake of serious allegations against him. Brand was accused of assault and emotional abuse by several women in an investigation conducted by Channel 4’s 'Dispatches' program, The Times, and The Sunday Times.
