SANTA FE, MEXICO: Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer on the film 'Rust', is reportedly facing a challenging time awaiting her sentencing in the Santa Fe Country Adult Detention Facility.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter
The armorer was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter on March 6 in the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
She could face up to 18 months in jail. Her attorney, Jason Bowles, conveyed to TMZ that she is having a “really difficult time” adjusting to life in prison.
The sentencing date has not been set yet.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was convicted after two hours of deliberation
The courtroom was taken aback when the jury, after two hours of deliberation, found her guilty of manslaughter, though she was acquitted of tampering with evidence.

Halyna Hutchins' family wants all those responsible for her death to face justice
Following the verdict, Hutchins’ family expressed their desire for all responsible parties to face justice.
The Hutchins family’s attorneys, Gloria Allred and John Carpenter, stated their satisfaction with the jury’s decision and their anticipation for the legal system to hold others accountable for Hutchins’ death.
This statement indicates they want actor Alec Baldwin to be convicted, too, who is set to stand trial for involuntary manslaughter in July.
Baldwin, 65, faces the same potential sentence, if convicted. He has maintained never to have pulled the trigger of the prop gun which had a live bullet and hit Halyana.
The incident occurred in October 2021 during a rehearsal, leading to the fatal shooting of Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.
Baldwin, who had been charged with involuntary manslaughter but had the charges dropped and then reinstated, has pleaded not guilty.
