Ryan Reynolds accused of mocking Justin Baldoni in Sandra Bullock birthday post: 'Makes sense now'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The drama surrounding 'It Ends With Us' co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon as a resurfaced clip from Ryan Reynolds' Instagram has many convinced many that the actor was mocking Baldoni.

Notably, Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of engaging in "inappropriate and unwelcome behavior" and a smear campaign to "destroy" her reputation.

Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram in 2023 to pay tribute to co-star Sandra Bullock on her 59th birthday. The 'Deadpool' actor shared a hilarious clip from 'The Proposal' where the two bump into each other while completely naked.

However, it wasn't the clip but the caption that made people online believe that the actor tried to take a jibe at Baldoni. Reynolds captioned the post, "Happy Birthday to the inimitable and stunning Sandra Bullock! For your birthday this year, I got us both intimacy coordinators. And an HR department. And clothing?"

Moreover, the mention of "intimacy coordinators" was more timely than anyone realized and it made fans online believe it was a subtle jibe at Baldoni, according to Perez Hilton.

Lively accused Baldoni of inappropriate behavior on set in her complaint in December last year. She specifically called out Baldoni for allegedly going off script while filming their romantic scenes for 'It Ends with Us'.

Notably, part of her complaint also mentioned a list of 30 demands she presented before resuming filming after the Hollywood strikes. Item 13 demanded, per the outlet, that all intimate touch must be choreographed in advance with Blake Lively and an intimacy coordinator.

Similarly, all intimate on-camera touch and conversation were to be 'in character', not spoken from Justin Baldoni to Blake Lively personally.

Moreover, item 30 read, "An intimacy coordinator must be present at all times when Blake Lively is on set in scenes with Justin Baldoni."

Internet accuses Ryan Reynolds of shading Justin Baldoni in resurfaced post

Several internet users believed that the 'Deadpool vs Wolverine' star mocked Justin Baldoni in one of his Instagram posts from 2023 where he wished Sandra Bullock on her 59th birthday.

Some online comments read "The caption makes sense now" and "RR seems to have some disturbing jealousy demons he needs to deal with."

A person also stated, "#ryanreynolds just can't help himself!" whereas one mentioned, "Wow does he not understand that this is just making things worse?"

A user also wrote, "At this point we can agree RR goes as hard for his wife as Spencer Pratt" while one commented, "Sounds like he was jealous."

A person also added, "Petty. Both BL and RR lost all my respect. Hope the industry sees they aren’t nice people as they seem to be."

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds seek gag order against Baldoni’s lawyer

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have filed a court request to silence Justin Baldoni’s legal team. This comes after an unedited video was released that has become central to a contentious legal dispute.

The video, which was released by Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman, allegedly shows behind-the-scenes interactions between Lively and Baldoni during the filming of 'It Ends With Us', according to Daily Mail.

The leaked footage shows three takes of a romantic scene between Lively and Baldoni. The audio captures conversations between the two about lighting, their spouses, and even a joke about Baldoni’s nose, per the outlet.

In a letter filed on Tuesday, January 21, Lively and Reynolds requested a protective order against Baldoni’s lawyers and accused them of orchestrating a "harassing and retaliatory media campaign".

The couple claimed Freedman violated court rules by releasing the clip and making statements that are irrelevant to the case, potentially influencing public opinion and influencing a jury, according to Daily Mail.
