Ryan Reynolds accused of ‘staged’ autograph session amid Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni lawsuit drama
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ryan Reynolds is catching some heat from fans online following a public appearance amid the courtroom drama between him, his wife Blake Lively, and her 'It Ends With Us' co-star Justin Baldoni.
The 'Deadpool' star initially faced backlash after he and Lively informed a federal judge they planned to seek dismissal of Justin Baldoni’s defamation lawsuit. As if that wasn’t enough, Reynolds was recently spotted in New York signing autographs for fans—but the internet is convinced the whole thing was staged.
Ryan Reynolds caught in the act or was he?
A paparazzo account posted a video of Ryan Reynolds engaging with fans, casually signing 'Deadpool' posters and interacting before making his way to his car.

While the interaction seemed innocent enough, fans on the internet weren't buying it.
“You can say was staged just by looking at the nervousness in his face 😂😂😂,” one Instagram user commented.
“Looks planned. Everyone with same merchandise and blue pen. Usually people want pics these days. So fake,” another pointed out.
“So everyone has the same blue taped cardboard thing with stuff for him to sign? Everyone? With the same merch, same poster, same stuff? Just walking around hanging on to stuff in case they bump into him?” another skeptic questioned.
“100% staged!! He never signs or interacts like this and btw, suddenly bunch of people brought the same photo card or whatever, they looked same material. They were definitely paid,” someone else chimed in.
“Ryan Reynolds is desperate for some good news coverage,” read a comment.
“😂 nobody is believing this!” another declared.
And then, just as Reynolds was getting into his car, a woman in the crowd was heard yelling, “Justin is better.”
“Did they say ‘Justin’s better’ at the end????” one viewer asked.
Justin Baldoni fights back with explosive website
It's worth noting that Justin Baldoni is pulling out all the stops to defend himself against Blake Lively’s sexual harassment allegations. Over the weekend, he launched a website dedicated to his side of the story.
First reported by TMZ, the website links to an amended version of his jaw-dropping $400 million defamation and extortion lawsuit filed against Lively, Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist Leslie Sloane on January 16. It also contains a detailed 168-page document outlining a timeline of key events.
Among the bombshells are never-before-seen texts, emails, and other messages Baldoni allegedly exchanged with Lively and Reynolds during the production of 'It Ends With Us.'
One message from April 2023 appears to show Lively discussing a rewrite of the movie’s rooftop scene. “If you knew me (in person) longer you’d have a sense of how flirty and yummy the ball busting will play. It’s my love language. Spicy and playfully bold, never with teeth….” she allegedly wrote to Baldoni.
Reynolds himself allegedly sent a text in February 2023 gushing about Baldoni: “I’m excited for you to work together. I’m excited for Blake to crack open her creative piggy bank with someone as dynamic as you. This is gonna be INCREDIBLE. I happen to adore you, Justin.”
Baldoni's website even includes screenshots of alleged conversations with the film’s intimacy coordinator. He claims these texts prove he attempted to address Lively’s accusations that he made her feel “uncomfortable” with sexually suggestive comments and remarks about her postpartum body.
Lively originally filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department on December 20, alleging that Baldoni sexually harassed her on set. She later doubled down with a formal lawsuit filed in New York Federal Court on December 31, accusing him of launching an orchestrated smear campaign to ruin her reputation.
Lively and Reynolds have since requested a gag order for Baldoni’s attorney Brian Freedman, arguing that his public statements could “taint a potential jury.” Meanwhile, the case is currently set for a March 2026 trial date — with the first hearing scheduled for Monday, February 3, Page Six reported.
