Ryan Reynolds hits back at Martha Stewart’s claim he's 'not so funny' in real life, says he'd 'disagree'
BEDFORD, NEW YORK: Ryan Reynolds has responded to Martha Stewart after she suggested that the actor, widely known for his on-screen humor, is not quite as funny in person.
During an appearance on Bilt Rewards’ 'Rent Free' game show, Stewart, 83, commented on her Hollywood neighbor in Bedford, New York, stating that Reynolds “isn’t so funny in real life” and has a serious side.
Ryan Reynolds’ witty response to Martha Stewart
Martha Stewart's comments came in response to a question from Bilt Rewards CEO and founder Ankur Jain, who asked which celebrity would the respondents find the most fun to hang out with.
Initially speculating that Reynolds might have made the list “just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face,” Stewart added that despite his reputation, Reynolds is “very serious” in real life.
She went on to reveal her own ideal hangout picks, naming stars like Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Snoop Dogg, and Taylor Swift.
Reynolds, 48, known for his quick wit and humorous social media presence, was quick to respond to Stewart’s comments with a lighthearted post on X on Saturday, November 2.
“I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once," he remarked, jokingly adding, "The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so."

"He’s a good actor," she said, acknowledging his ability to "act funny" on screen.
However, Stewart did not hold back in saying that if she were creating the ultimate list of celebrities to hang out with, Reynolds wouldn’t make the cut, adding that she “would take Ryan off [the list], and...put in somebody else.”
