OTTAWA, CANADA: Blake Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, debuted a striking new look as he was honored in his home country of Canada on Tuesday, July 1.

The 'Deadpool & Wolverine' star was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada during Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa, according to the Daily Mail.

The 48-year-old actor sported freshly dyed dark hair as Governor General Mary Simon placed the prestigious medal around his neck.

Ryan Reynolds was honored in Canada even as he and his wife, actress Blake Lively, remain embroiled in a legal battle with 'It Ends With Us' director Justin Baldoni.

Lively has accused her co-star of harassment and fostering a hostile work environment during the filming of the 2024 movie. The 'Gossip Girl' star also alleged that Baldoni orchestrated a smear campaign against her. Justin Baldoni arrives to the

In response, the 'Jane the Virgin' actor filed a $400 million countersuit, accusing both Lively and Reynolds of defamation.

Despite ongoing legal tensions, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively appeared relaxed and cheerful during the ceremony in Ottawa. Reynolds was seen waving and blowing kisses to attendees as he was honored with the Order of Canada.

Adding to his big week, Reynolds also appeared on the cover of TIME magazine in a write-up titled 'How Ryan Reynolds Rewrote the Script for Celebrity Entrepreneurs.'

In the profile, he candidly admitted, “I am people-pleasing by default, as is my wife, as are our first two children. The third was, you know, born flipping the bird. And the fourth is TBD.” He also acknowledged the toll of constant likability, noting, “Your boundaries can kind of melt and that’s not necessarily healthy.”

Netizens call Ryan Reynolds’ new look ‘ just awful’

One person wrote below the Daily Mail article, “Looks like a 'rug'.” The second person shared, “I’ve never seen anyone’s good looks fade so fast. Never mind his overall appeal and credibility.”

The third one commented, “I used to think Ryan was ok but I think he looks more orange everyday and his voice grates. Love what he's done for Wrexham though. He's a mixed bag.”

A comment read, “He's definitely having his face done as well it looks far older.” Another comment was “Looks ghastly. Much better as a silver fox.”

“That purple dye job is just awful. Much sexier grey,” a critic shared.

Another critic posted, “Ryan's hairline is receding even faster than his career.”

“He actually looked better with the slightly gray hair. This makes him look older just like George Clooney when he dyed his hair,” a comment read.

Someone on X tweeted, “Yikes 😅.”

“That vile individual? Fantastic,” another one added.
