On Wednesday, March 12, the beloved host shared some photos to his and 'Wheel of Fortune' Instagram accounts, leaving fans both stunned and amused.

The host captioned the post, “New ink? Next steps: a motorcycle and a leather jacket,” hinting at his new, edgy look. But it was the accompanying video that truly revealed the full story behind his surprising display. 

In the video, Seacrest explained that his tattoo moment was inspired by none other than his co-host Vanna White. 

"So, Vanna recently showed off her tattoo on the show," he said, teasing his audience. "I thought, why not follow suit?" With his signature wit, Seacrest recounted his spontaneous trip to a tattoo parlor after a visit to a local gyro joint.

“So, on the way home, there’s a great gyro place,” he shared. “You wouldn’t believe it. In the corner of the shopping center—tattoo parlor. I go in. I meet Franco. He gives me a deal on my tattoo."

Seacrest then gave the viewers a dramatic reveal, taking off his blazer to show a barbed wire tattoo on his upper arm.

However, the big reveal quickly had a hilarious twist.

"It’s fake! It’ll be off tomorrow," he admitted with a grin, proving once again that his sense of humor is as sharp as ever.
