Sabrina Carpenter, while reflecting on the public scrutiny she faced following the split, told Rolling Stone, "When you get down the little rabbit hole is truly when people start commenting on you as a person or you physically. All of those things that you’re already thinking on a day-to-day basis. You don’t need a stranger from Arkansas to remind you."
Speaking about the inaccuracies of such speculation, she added, “You’re like, ‘That didn’t happen then. That did happen then. You’re missing a few key details there.’”
She continued, “People underestimate how tricky it is to navigate being a young woman, having relationships, and then having a bunch of strangers have opinions on them.”
The couple’s breakup was confirmed in December 2024, just months after their romance gained public attention. Their chemistry was especially visible in the singer's music video for 'Please, Please, Please', in which Keoghan appeared.
